That's not the raw bar texture on it. I flat grind all the mill marks off the stock before heat treat, that's the finish from heat treating after I clean it up with a Scotchbrite belt.

I'm normally a black micarta guy, but when I pick a favorite wood it's ironwood.

I have a little of it in a burl root ball, but it needs cut...and it has rock inclusions....soon i will try using a tile table top saw to block it out.
