Knives sightings and celeberties uses.

This has always interested me in being a knife lover myself, and I am always curious to hear what people like to carry.

I thought I 'd start a thread where people can post a celebrity knife sighting or something that was used on a show or film as a resource to those interested in what's out there in the media.

See something on a show whether it be cooking, hunting, or a episode of 24, post it here.

Mark Wahlberg in the film "Shooter". I asked in another thread what is that auto/semi auto knife?

Didn't they also do a bike for Case Knives that had knife blades in the rims?

Yes I read he is a knife lover and a big microtech fan . . although who really knows but it seems to make sence seeing as how he ususally only uses Microtech and Benchmades.

Have not see Shooter yet, might have to wait until it comes out on DVD.

I don't how many of you watch NCIS, but I spot a knife I recognize about every other week in it. Notably, a Cold Steel Large Voyager SE and a Benchmade Nimravus, in separate episodes.

I just watched the movie Seraphim Falls with Pierce Bronsan and was curious who made the bowie knife he used in the film? Tried a search but couldn't find much.

Are you reading the same thread I am? Your very first sentence set the tone and gist of the thread, whether you meant it to or not. Why you wish to "defend" what other people post is beyond me. Your thread is obviously to be about celebrities who actually collect knives. This is clear by the sampling I provided above. When someone mentions the use X knives in a series but makes no mention that the actual person behind the character cares about knives is what I was making jest about. Geez.

Take it easy buddy,:o
I am not necessarily defending any one, and I wasn't trying to come down on you. I was merely trying to emphasize and point out the true reason and topic behind the post. I thought the topic and the finish of my post clearly stated what was the focus of this thread, (although if people feel the need to post information whether it be fact or opinion or belief about who is a collector, that is fine, up to them, on topic, and just as interesting) as seen by the above quotes which simply show posts about media knife sightings and questions or comments concerning them. Are there other posts about celebs being knife colectors? Sure, but really what's the big deal, we are all just people who share an interest here and like to talk about it an share our views. To be honest with you, if it brings a positive cool aspect to our love here of knives, I'm all for it.

I think many here who have seen the Hunted, Rambo, and others show or films, love it when the see knives on screen and feel the same excitement as I do. Some of these movies make me wanna go out and don my Mall Ninja mask and go "Shing Shing" in front of my mirror in my underoos.;)

I responded to your post in a friendly manner of explanation because it is hard to understand the tone of words on a screen which is why there are "emoticons" or the "smiles". Which is why your post kinda came off condescending to read. Your jest maybe with a :D or a :) would have made it feel more like

"Hey guys, are you sure these celebs are actual collectors or are you just assuming they are"

Than something like:jerkit: or  which felt like

"Man, you idjits are too gullible, didn't your mama tell you not to believe everything you see on T.V.?"

And your last post felt like this  which said silently to me

"F-u Stephan, your an idiot!"

Which is okay, I like that knida abuse, god knows I'm used to it and my step-mother gives it to me every once and awhile . . "hint hint"

In all seriousness, were all adults here until we go "shing-Shing!" and I wasn't going "Shing-Shing!".

I think what I am trying to say is, as I stated before "I heard" and "who really Knows". I don't think anyone here is going to read this and write a blog about how Pierce Bronsan is now thier Idol because he wields one bad A$$ bowie in a movie.

P.S. Good Call on Seraphim Falls I saw the cover at Block Buster and wanted to kiss it. Not for the knife but Pierce is just so dreaming and we're meant for each other because I now know he is a knife collector.:D

I'm just playing guy.

I see your point and it's well taken.

:D
Why does seeing a "celebrity" using a knife on a tv show or movie equate to the actual person being a collector? I hope everyone knows how to seperate fiction from fact....

:D

Oh Damn .. . . you did use :D . . . .My bad:foot:

I guess it just felt that way you know . . .

Man, F-me I am an idiot! :D

Seriously, your right:thumbup: , and I apologize if I came off the wrong way, I was just tryng to make light of it all.

Hmm, there's a difference between being naked in the shower and being naked on camera.

Maybe I am being a bit too judgmental, however.

Maybe if she was actually naked I could see some of your point, but she wasn't. Unless she did another shoot, the picture I saw had her wearing a bikini under a lab coat type thing.

:p Sorry for the misunderstanding, sorry for the thread drift.

 Scott,... yeah man, I just saw Seraphim Falls, and that was one bad-ass bowie. Not too sure, but it looked like it was forged Damascus to me. I don't know about you, but I would love to have that knife.

So, have you found any info on that knife. I'd like to know if it is custom or availble somewhere.

For anyone that was offended by the FHM spread with Kary, I urge you to get rid of your subscription and send me your copy of FHM with her in it. (I missed that issue).

Also, Blade- Trinity has the BM Rescue Hook. My wife actually spotted it in the scene where the camera pans past all the weaponry.

It looks alot like one of Muela's large bowies. The one on the left. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the knife.

Just saw the movie, not a bad one either. Could have used a bit better of an ending but good. Wished they'd make more westerns like this. Your right, looks pretty close to the one in the movie.

Might have to add one ot my collection soon.

I really like that big Muela. I just finished this bad boy. I posted it over in the knife makers gallery.

This shoot has not been released yet, but, here's a custom knife being used as a prop in a professional photo shoot.

I did make a knife for Jesse James, he said he would use it in a show but I never saw it there. I did see him use a Spydie in one show and he wnetioned he was looking for a OTF auto at the time we talked knives.

In Saraphim Falls I really think that knife is a prop knife. If you look at it closely the blade stock was very very thin for the large blade and it also had a very small grind, nothing like any real knife I have ever seen. He also wrecked the temper when he heated it in the fire to treat his wound. The begining of the movie was pretty cool but what a suck ass ending.

I know (well have heard said) Alton Brown is a collector and user, he uses his own pocket knives on the show. He is also said to be a gadget geek like a lot of us here.

a few yrs ago a collector of MT knives was contacted to sell any MT's he had with the serial # "24" he didnt watch TV and didnt see any connection to anything and he later found out the buyer was sutherland, he collects MT's with that serial #.

he said if he woulda known he woulda doubled the price lol.

buahahahhaha! that's funny as hell.

Although I've seen BM's in jacks hands as of late.

What particular model benchmades does Jack use? I know his handgun is a Sig, which I have the airsoft version of. (I'm not a gun owner...so sue me). But I'd love to have a benchmade like Jacks. My phone rings the CTU ringtone. LOL I'm such a dork.

You're not even any where close to me man. No where near. It's shamefull but I'll admit it. I've done a few things because it's "Jack like" and liked it so I still do. For example, I carry a green messenger bag. I always carried a bag, this one is just easier. My sig 226 fits damn nice in there too. Although, jacks, weapon of choice is overwelmingly a HK USP compact btw. He only really used sigs in the first seasons. I got a hand me down treo (pda/cell phone) from my Business partner to see if I liked it. I love it, I'm getting a new one. lol. I didn't actually buy a H.A.L.O. though, but I have one. Thats a long story though. My New dogs name is Sig...un24 related really, but his full name is Sig-Sauer-Von-Bauer. I actually didn't come up with that name, my wife did. I was like wtf is the "von" for? She's like "well he IS a GERMAN shepherd". There's proly more but I can't think of it all. It's sad really.

edit: I never answered the question. lol I dunno what they were. I just saw the hint of a butterfly on the blades. My wife gets REALLY tired of me pausing movies and stuff trying to ID a blade.

Alton Brown on good eats often uses folding knives. I have never been able to get a good view but I can tell they are good knives.

I've seen him use a leek on more than one occasion, and other kershaws as well, but cant recall off the top of my head any of the other models, but I know I've seen a rainbow leek and regular leek as well.

His kitchen knives are Shuns which are made by Kai who makes kershaw, he also has a Shun line where he got them to modify the handles up at an angle for him and they now produce them for retail sale. He knows his blades.
