By the way , at that time in history, iron would have been worth more than it's weight in gold .

Iron was very common in the Bronze Age. They just didn't have forges hot enough yet to work it properly into tools and weapons, so there wasn't a lot of incentive to mining much of it, because it wasn't very useful. Iron was used for jewelry and other not tool related purposes. An exception would be made for meteor iron, because it had a "magical" or religious significance to the people for ceremonial purposes, so that stuff was pricey and rare. Even when the Hittites were arming themselves with iron weapons, they weren't as good as the bronze weapons of the time. The Hittites were forging iron, but still nothing like the quality we associate with later iron forging. Iron was just much easier to obtain the raw materials to make them than copper and tin.

Never carried due to being a convention knife. I have a couple SOF Conv knives, all the same number. ;-)

I am looking for a Schrade one-piece with the now discontinued utility blade profile. . . .at a non-collector's price. Our grandson will turn 13 next November and I think he would like the rugged design and the gimmick of tools in the handle, but don't want to get him a boot knife or dagger.

Other than that, I wish I could justify (to my wife) getting a CRK folder; any of them, but particularly a Large Sebenza 31.

Another "but-rent-and groceries-come-first" wish would be a Darrel Ralph Mad Maxx, or even one of the Camillus Cuda Maxx knives.

The reality of my life is that I have lost my EDC Leatherman Wave and need to replace that. . .. quietly.

Ive got production stuff that I like and use. These are my encouragement to stay out of the Rolex scene. I carry my Hellhound daily, but its more like pocket candy. Eventually I'd like to set up a nice display in my office and have themed groups.

Pretty much all the knives I want to buy are never available when I actually have the money for them.

I really want to collect some GECs, but the patterns I want are sold out a week before I knew they existed.
I really want a Spyderco Shaman run in Micarta, same story as GEC.
I am interested in a full size Spartan Harsey, Large Sebenza 31, or flipper delete XM-18. Those are sometimes for sale, but I can never afford them when they are lol.

I prefer mostly higher end production USA made folders and limited runs, so the combination of availability and affordability is a persistent challenge. I also don't trust the secondary market anymore or sell knives anymore, so I buy knives far less often than I did 10 years ago.
