I can confirm they are still making them and if you contact Spartan Blades they can put you on the list. When I did that in March the estimate was August delivery.

A 2019 BF knife ... love the knife but missed the order that year. And the prices being asked for most that rarely are up for sale are crazy.
 

Knives you want but can't obtain​

Pretty much any toy over $150.00. Metal detecting and fishing seasons are starting. My play money only goes so far.
 
A Loveless drop point hunter or a Bill Moran hunter are top of my dream list for obvious reasons. I'm also a huge fan of Jason Knight so anything from him would be an absolute treasure.
 
The above from SMKW. I want so badly. Even if I had the $650 I don’t know if I could bring myself to carry it. I’d probably just sit at home and stare at it. Of course it’s sold out so guess it’s a moot point.
 
1. An old katana. Ok it´s not a knife, but it´s the only blade, which I can´t obtain and I want it really bad.
2. Japanese honyaki kitchen knife. One day I´ll get it and it will be the most important object of my kitchen.
3. A puukko knife made by Rannanjärvi. It´s an important piece of my nation´s knife making history
4. A Jakutian knife. It´s pretty hard to find a proper Yakutian knife outside Yakutia. Most likely I have to go to Yakutsk one day and find the knife I´looking for.
5. A traditional tanto.

Sadly I e-mailed them about this and they are no longer taking names for the list, as they are backordered for 150 knives plus the ones they're still backordered on for their dealers.
 
I think it was back in the 80's at the California Custom Knife show I almost bought a Michael Walker sgian-dubh folding knife for ~$200. Ano Ti bolsters, liner lock, carved Blackwood scales. It might have had engraved bolsters but don't remember. I have kicked myself often for not buying it. The action was so glassy... I watched his work go up in price by leaps and bounds for years after that.

I've sent perhaps 3 or 4 Sebbies back to the spa over the yrs, and they always come back as new.
So what's not to like? Well, I would prefer a 30 deg enclosed edge angle and maybe a higher heat-treat number, but they have pushed the hardness up a little over the yrs, and isn't too bad right now.
I'm not always too thrilled over the sharpness when I get 'em back.... a little iffy sometimes, but my Apex Pro handles any fixin'

Bummer. That tells me they underestimated the popularity of that one. They did tell me to keep a watch at DLT, GPK, Monkey Edge, and KSF because they will all be receiving them- but don't tell anyone :)

They told me that, too, and DLT said they thought they were getting the rest of their 2020 orders in April, but it's May now, and the SHFs sell out so fast that unless I get advance notice if when the drop will be I'll certainly miss it. 😔
