Knives you would never buy again!

NVM, I'm done. It's not worth the ulcers and I value the info. here from the knowledgeable and honorable more than I do defending equality. I get it, the new kids don't have 4 digit posting figures under their belt and aren't allowed to play in the sandbox.

From now on, I'll just try and return to being largely a reader ONLY.

Seriously, I consider this matter closed and I shall pursue it no further.

My apologies to all.

Most people with many hundreds of posts have the time/experience here to know the lay of the land. Specifically, what gets posted where. Your "mothballed" thread was moved because a Supermoderator, who was chosen by the site's owner for his judgement, demeanor, and patience, felt it was more appropriately placed in a different forum. If you have an issue with that, the appropriate forum is Technical, Service and Support. NOT another thread, even if the subject is somewhat related. This thread isn't about your grievances with the site's rules, the site's atmosphere, or how you think you're being treated by other members or the moderation staff.

When you make a post like that, you derail the thread and suddenly it's not about the intended subject of discussion, it's all about you. The last several posts are all about you. Not your knife that you'd never buy again, but you. Most will consider that a breach of forum etiquette. Some might consider that trolling. I wouldn't be surprised if this whole chunk of your drama gets "mothballed" into a certain thread in another subforum.

Many of the knives I own are no longer in production so I am unable to buy even if I wanted.

1. Cutco 1891 folder, Way over priced and poor blade steel. Give me it's cousin, the Ka-Bar Dozier, #4065. Same blade, less cash. A lot less.

2. SOG Flash 2, nice blade shape but to high of price for the overall knife. Owned three, now down to one.

3. Buck 112 Ranger. Clip point is not my favorite blade style. Knife is heavy and out dated. Still, I might consider a drop point version if Buck ever offers one.

4. CRKT M16-02z. The knife sucks! There, I said it, I own a knife that sucks!

5. Benchmade 162 Bushcraft. I love mine, but for just a little more $$$, I can have a Survive! GSO. Much better knife for just a little more money.

If I had to start over (and only buy new knives), there is one knife that I would buy again. The Benchmade 531. A little high on the price but still a great blade.

I'm glad for every knife I've bought. Certainly the two clones I bought when new to the knife world would be a pass at this point. I'd also pass on the assisted knives I've bought. Just not my thing. Beyond that, everything has been a good enough knife to not feel too much regret. I'd probably pass on a few of the cheaper ones again as they tend to have more compromises in the name of price. The Rat 2 is one of the few inexpensive knives that I would buy again in a heart beat should I lose it.

We get one guy like this every few months, life goes on.....

Blame the forum when you start trouble in every thread and then find it.

ZT0350 for me. It was beautiful, and really well built. But using it felt a little like trying to dance with a REALLY fat guy. It's too stubby and thick and not pointy enough and has too much recurve for it's size. I never found a knife job where something else didn't work better.

I'd definitely agree with those who have mentioned the Leek, too. The tip on it feels like it was designed to be a surgical tool (and, given a proper edge, it would probably function nicely as one!)

And threads like this aren't? (again, no offense to the OP of this thread) ...http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1432744-The-Bears-Den-Shirogorov-Showcase

Lookin' to me like *some people* get to post whatever they want in GD and others get censored and / or harassed. Let's just dispense w/ the bull here shall we Danke?

Once again; aren't. Forum: General Knife Discussion

Your area to discuss knives in general: Folders, Fixed blades, Swords & knife related equipment

Your thread. FEEDBACK: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly!

This is your area to tell about your experiences (Good or Bad) with dealers, sellers, and individuals you've bought, sold, and traded with.

Your thread wasn't locked till you decided to pick a fight with a moderator.

If someone comes into general and says they'd just bought a new Colonial knife. posted some pictures, and asked other users to chime in that thread would stay open.

Your thread was just your opinion about a situation that you made you feel preachy.

Morrow was a nice guy; he should have moved that to Whine and Cheese where your other stuff wound up.

I think most of the knives I own would not be purchased again for one of three reasons:

1) Availability.

2) The knife no longer meets my needs.

3) There are better options for the same amount of money.

For example, one of my all time favorite knives is the US made Kershaw Zing. It has long been discontinued and prices for used are flat out crazy. I would not buy one again at the going prices. My Benchmade 531 offers most everything that the Kershaw brings to the table and, in some ways, has more to offer for about the same cash. Give or take $20 bucks.

I love the SOG Tomcat. I have all variants, but I don't carry them because they don't have pocket clips. Why, oh why SOG? I love everything about the knife, and I wanted to EDC it so bad. They will stay in my collection, but only for fondling.

Heh...how old are you? I recall carrying many "pocket" knives, in my...umm...pocket. Not a clip in the bunch. LOL

Too lazy to look through and see if I posted previously.

CRKT
Will never own a Boker
LionSteel SR series, handles are too smooth

I have some older Cold Steels that I like but having handled some of their latest offerings, more than likely won't buy anymore. Quality has gone down IMHO.

ZT0350 for me.

Yeah, that thing is just way to wide in all angles.

Anything that opens with a stud or disc. They don't work well for me and are a pain to keep clean. Anything with serrated blade. (limits usefulness) Anything made in Europe. (lousy steel) I'm also done with Gerber and Case.

Kershaw Nure, forgot about that one.
Worst flipper, worst SS handles, worst centering and worst tolerances I've had for the price
Even Chinese cheapos, SRM, ENlan and Ganzo were much better in all departments

One of my first purchases when I decided I was going to own a "few" knives was a SOG AO...can't remember what model. It was too big for my hands and had a lot of blade play. I returned it for another similar model and while it fit well the blade play was too much and I couldn't adjust it. I returned it as well and did not buy another SOG.

I did not like the ZT350 I bought as it was also too large and a bit to heavy for me for an EDC, otherwise it was an awesome knife.

Some of the "reasons" you guys have are hilarious. Too heavy? Too big? Too "murdery"? Did you bother looking at the specs before you buy or are you adding to cart whilst blindfolded?
