Knives you've gifted.

Flowers & Candy is over-rated. I gave my Wife & Daughter a Benchmade 585 Mini-Barrage for Valentines Day. Nothing says, "I Love & Care About You" more than a nice sharp, quick deploying reliable knife.

Not to derail the thread but,
You de-waved it so she wouldn't hurt herself!!? I'd teach her to use it properly, or buy a different knife (there are SO many choices of knives that aren't waved).

Oh no what I meant was im getting her an emerson this weekend that has already been dewaved by the previous owner lol. Sorry for the confusion! I ended up telling her (Told her my plan) and she said she wouldn't want to use the wave to begin with. I showed her the action of it said she wouldn't want to pull that out at work and make a huge flick noise. "No need to draw a huge amount of attention when trying to open a box" is what she told me.

Three to active military, three to a couple of sons and gd-kids. One Kershaw JYDII ($55 blem) to a buddy. (I bought three; I use one. One spare.)
Have about 7 more ready to go...sons-in-law, more gd-kids.
They range from a low of about $100 (PM2's) through Strider folders (SMF).
and one cheapie Cold Steel Mini-Lawman backlock ($60) that's so tight that nobody can open it, much less my 8 yr-old grandson. Nice work...Cold Steel.
Yes, that's the ONLY Cold Steel knife and I'll have to replace it with something he can operate.

Funny I came across this thread today. I was going through my closet where I kept my knives and saw the Case Sodbuster Jr that I gave my Dad for his birthday many decades ago. I was just a boy. He carried it every day until the stroke that eventually took him from me. My Mom put in his dresser drawer along with his other personal items where it stayed for over fourteen years until she passed last year. I cleaned out the house and just put it away. Today was the first time I held it in my hands and saw the wear from years in his pockets. It was still stiff to open and reasonably dull. I want to carry it to remind me of him and all of the time I remember him using it. I would be afraid to lose the darn thing and another part of his memory would be lost as well.

I gave my buddy a benchmade 375 for his upcoming deployment to Afghanistan. He loves it and tells me all the others in his unit are jealous as heck! !

I love gifting knives to my friends, an excuse to buy more! Plus I always get to play with them and sharpen them haha. Mostly Kershaws, few Spydercos and Byrds, tons of leathermans (everyone needs one!) but the nicest knife I ever gifted was a hand forged belt knife to my best friend of 15 years, needless to say I am jealous to this day and I want to have it!

Me and a friend of mine went in half on a Leatherman Supertool 300 for another friend of ours that went into the marines. He was quite happy with it and has been able to get alot of good use out of it.

Secret Santa at work this year I gifted a Leek to a non-knife guy.

7 stitches day one.
