Knives you've seriously considered buying, but never pulled the trigger on

The Compact Kephart is very functional. It is no novelty knife. I believe the blade length is 2.6" and it obviously is a 3 finger knife. But many smaller folders are essentially 3 finger knives. I have been VERY pleased with it at it's cost point.

That was one hell of a long list.....

There are a couple that I missed when I made it, too.
(And I eventually went back and fixed that, because I'm a little too interested.)

Lots of knives for me, but a few would be-

RMJ raider dagger
Busse Leaner Meaner
Fiddleback Kephart- more because I'm waiting for the handle color/material I want...
BM 943

And about 100 others...

Shiro 111. Too expensive. I have many expensive hobbies...and I have to prioritize.
A Shirogorov 111 costs more than my ham radio HF transceiver I use for field day.

4 or 5 hundred is my upper limit on folders. It is what it is.

I normally don't like short, chunky knives. But that new Hinderer Half Track Wharnie really has my interest now. I haven't pulled the trigger on it because I'm getting ready to drop some serious money on tax stamps..

Manly Patriot in D2.

I actually pulled the trigger and ordered it, but they messed it up by sending it to wrong adress, then after the package returned to them they requested me to pay shipping fee again. Despite the fact I gave them correct adress and they messed it up.

I was furious, I canceled my order and got a refund...

1. Hinderer. For the price, I was kinda put off by the XM-18’s I handled a few years ago. Very nice in many ways, but kinda bulky and heavy for my taste and the action was less than stellar. Ultimately I was worried there wouldn’t be enough gained for me to favor it over my Spyderco Southards (LOVE ‘em!), when accounting for price. A 3” wharney has migrated near the top of my want list, however.

2. Adam Kornalski Agor (edc). The only thing holding me back is having him advertise one with a steel/grind/handle combo that suits me—and coinciding with disposable cash in my wallet. I really SHOULD contact him to have one put together the way I’d like.

3. CPK 6” Utility Fighter. I just missed the last batch. My fault for not being attentive and committal.

4. Spyderco Bradley Bowie. I’m not sure I’ll like the forward choil/ricasso. And I’m weighing it against #2&3. I have room for one, maybe two, but not all three.

5. ProTech Newport Tuxedo. It’s been in my cart a few times. I would kinda like to handle one in person first. If I chanced across one on sale, I probably wouldn’t be able to hold back.

Spyderco Province 4V.

Dozier folding hunter I am very intrigued by it. I don't really need another lockback in so so steel which helps me focus on other knives.
Rat 2 my local wallie mart had some for a few months. I looked it at everytime I was there. The liner lock kind of ruins it for me but I'm still interested.
Native 5 I want a few of these in different configurations. I'm not sure which I want the most.
A custom fixed blade from Robert Erickson
A river rescue knife to replace the NRS co-pilot that the Lehigh River ripped off my PFD on a double+ release day. Going into that giant hole seemed like a fun idea until I was timing my breathes in between waves trying to figure out a couple things. First, how I was going to claw the cliff wall to get out of the water. Second, how I was going to get my boat back, which was 100 yards upstream. Third, how I was going to recover my paddle which was 100 yards downstream. I climbed the rock wall by my fingertips, timed the dive to my boat which I also caught by a few fingertips, and hand paddled to the paddle which got stuck in an eddy.

Hinderer xm18 3.5 Skinny. I have a hard time using knives that expensive.

Only knives I can think of off hand, are the Ontario 499 "Jet Pilot Survival Knife" like I had "way back when", when I was a cub/boy scout, and a couple Old Hickory knives, like the "Buffalo Skinner" and "Pig Sticker".
I really don't need another 499 ... and I do not foresee me needing to skin any buffalo, nor to stick any pigs/boars ... at least not in what remains in this "lifetime".

I don't think the Cold Steel "Chinese War Sword" machette qualifies as a "knife", so it probably don't count.

The daggers and short swords I've been looking at for carry when wearing my kilt, cost too much, so probably don't count, either.

There are some knives I really love, but cause to their button lock and mine lack of trust in it, I never pushed the button. Hogue EX-01 4", Spartan Blades Pallas, Blackhawk CQD Mark I, to name some.

That list was so long i thought I accidentally got on the forums list while scrolling by mistake :D

Rpn. Spyderco has mil discount?? ( military?)

For me it’s a custom Buck from their custom shop. Never pull the trigger because the club discount isn’t available on customs.

Also a Winkler and pretty much anything smaller or bigger than my Blue Ridge Hunter.

The Paragon Phoenix, not extremely expensive and I love the design and the fact that its a gravity knife but I'm just not sure I would use it much.
