Well I am back from the New England gathering, We had a great time. Not as many people were playing with alot of knives , but everyone fondled it and I believe were impressed. I however did slack off from shelter making to beat up on this knife.

I having owned a few of Koyote knives have come to expect a sharp comfortable knife that will out perform blades twice as thick. This badboy did not let me down.

I love the edge geometry of Christof's knives. He makes a great true convex knife that will hold an edge and keep cutting.

Take a look at that edge

The Micarta handle is tuff. All the edges are rounded, making it comfortable in every grip.

I love the fact that I can take this rather thin knife and pound it through some nasty Red Oak

Then cross baton maple,

Notch with ease, and put a fast point on a stick.

and still make paper thin Fuzzies!

Did I mention it has a sharp pointy tip that drills great

Not as pretty anymore eh...

Haha, batoning with a cig hanging out of your mouth is classic.

Good looking blade though, this oughta be a lot of fun to goof around with.

Here it is with some family.

We found a nasty knot in a hard piece if Red Oak, that begged for the large Koyote to seperate it. Keep in mind that this large Koyote knife is only 1/8th" thick!

Tony! My brotha from anotha motha! Good stuff. That blade indeed looks handy. Looks like a fun time.

No, if I can send it normal speed, thats like twelve days. If not I still can, but does it have to be shipped expedited?

BTW, those pictures were awesome, looks like a WICKED knife!:D

Is it MY turn yet? ;)

So cool - looks like a great knife.

I have to tell you - I wanted in on this pass around because (if I may be honest and not offend anyone) have not liked the aesthetics of Coyote's knives - but have always thought that there must be something to them because so many members liked them.

I hope to give a more skeptics view to the knife when I get it. Who knows, maybe I will be converted and have to own one of those new three fingers designs! ;)

Great pics Tony - and the camp made me long to be in the woods!

TF

Incidentally, I love that match case! Enough that I hope it isn't sold when I next have play money.

Be skeptical, and I know that the aesthetics are not the regular norm of production or custom worlds. While I would like to make different things that everyone likes, my style is pretty pronounced and it's not expected that everyone will like it- there are some classic collectible old time makers out there whose blades I can't STAND :D

So I'm looking forward to it! Hopefully your hand isn't actually 4.25 inches across THREE knuckles. If it is, you may need a bigger handle. (that happens once in a while)

I'll put you down and you can ship however ever is easiest for you:thumbup:

I too am getting excited to play with this knife.

In regards to Talfuchre's comment about the aesthetics of Koyote knives, I kind of agree. Maybe it's seeing so many ultra-clean knives (especially high end folders) that's skewing my preferences. The Koyote knives stand out because they seem less manufactured, but "created." The passaround blade seems almost organic in shape, like smoothed stone or driftwood (even though it's micarta). It's a bit different from the shiny, angular knives out there and I can't wait to get it in hand and see what makes it so popular around here.

I can relate to these comments.

I too was not very enamored by the photos I had seen of his knives, but after testing some of them out I found I was totally stoked be these tools.

You are a FAR better photographer than I. Something I really need to work on.

I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to type "I'm laughing because the lack of angularity is one of the main things people LIKE about the handles" without sounding like a bastard

Christof, I thank you for your kind words.

Many knives pass through my hands, and only the one that inspire me get the field time needed for good photographs; your knives fit that bill.

I knife that pulls its weight is always a pleasure in the field, and pound for pound yours are some of the best I’ve used.

I look forward to testing the passaround knife and even more so to the custom knife project we are working on.

My advice to you my friend is to keep doing what you do so well and your reputation for building serious working knives will grow.

Man, I must be one of the few guys who has always really liked the look of Christof's stuff :D The first one of his that really caught my eye was a bushcrafter in tan mircata. I really like his modern seax style blades too!
