Kukri in 3V, K890, or CruWear

Is D3V something you’re able to make into a kukri?
From what I understand, the Delta protocol is a proprietary process that is known only by CPK and a few makers they have shared it with. Therefore most makers will not be able to make it for you. Your best bet is to wait for the CPK Khukuri to become available.

If you're willing to compromise on the steel, then Kailash Blades make excellent khukuris from, I believe, 5160. They have lots of options.

Go for a cold steel kukri in 3v and have a custom handle made for it. Saw one on ebay a while back that had a linen handle and custom titanium guard. Full custom would be nice but CS is serious value.
Now there's a thinking man. Great idea.

But if you're serious about chasing perfection, as far as material properties, ie toughness and corrosion resistance, then you really ought to have Mecha make you a titanium khukuri. You won't beat that for either toughness or corrosion resistance.

I believe I've read that Nate said his AEBL is tougher than his 3v? (A little bit)
Someone will come along shortly and correct me, if I'm wrong

This may very well be what I end up doing unless a maker wants to do something custom. Looks like I can get one for around $400-450 shipped. But then I’ve got to deal with that handle…

If you want ultimate toughness, you want CPM-1V and Z-Tuff/CD#1.

Yeah, especially if money is no object......
I'm trying to talk somebody now out of it for one of My choppers. It's about $200 just for the raw steel.

I can't imagine how much a kukri would be with that shape? Ugh!

Mecha Mecha are you willing to make a beast of a kukri for me?

Listen, pal. People have been trying to trick me into making a ti alloy kukri for years. It's just an elaborate troll attempt to make me beat my head on the wall forging and grinding these ridiculous titanium alloys into that wierd shape. And some darn hornswoggling, no-good, rapsc...

There is no cap. I just want what I want.

...gentlemanly, thoughtful, dashing man of good taste might be just the one to finally get it to happen!

Of those 3 choices, I'd go with 3V. It's your money, you can spend it however you like. Whether anyone else likes it or not really doesn't matter.

I'm curious to know why Cruwear wouldn't work well. It's super tough & resistant to chipping, No?
