L.T. Wright Picture Thread

I use a leather pocket sheath that I got from Collector Knives. I normally wear cargo pants/shorts and slide it one of the leg side pockets.

I just checked on one for my red micarta Frontier First, and they only have red in stock. Unfortunately it's a red that clashes bad with the knife's red.

But that's a great idea - I'll definitely check back.

Yep, this is what I found when I checked last weekend. I was hoping to get the brown version. :(

Yeah, I know which red you are talking about. For what it’s worth, this is how that red looks after lots of sweaty pocket time.

Yes, this is the Frontier First "Patch Knife," such a great little piece in A2 steel. They don't come like this, I re-did the blade with sandpaper to get the finish going lengthwise instead of vertical. The tube is perfect for those who prefer an extension on such a small knife.
Hard to imagine that mine will end up looking like yours, but we'll see.

These two arrived today, so I thought they should be in a family photo:

Antique pipe? That old curmudgeon would probably have been proud to hide this knife under his beard! Congrats, that's a sweet little cutter! LT's A2 sharpens up to a keen edge. Are you thinking of refinishing the blade?

Thanks. I collect (restore) old pipes, with special fondness for the ~1900 figurals.

No, I wasn't planning on messing with the blade until it needs sharpening. It's actually the sharpest out-of-the-box knife I can ever remember owning.

I love the red micarta on this one. My third frontier first is supposed to be delivered tomorrow but, after seeing yours, I am already planning to get one in this color.

I have to confess - I found this knife by doing a search on LT Wright and 'double red', after seeing a Bandit in that color. I did find a double red Frontier First, but liked this red one better, and also thought the A2 steel would be good.

Reminded me of when my friend's girlfriend told us she was looking for a new car. We asked her "what kind?" and she replied: "a blue one."

Nothing wrong with that! I search for knives by colors all the time, especially when I buy them for my daughters.

My newest frontier first came in the mail today, it’s the middle one. These are my three frontier firsts in O1, A2, 3V respectively.

I love that 'brick' color on those two. Your comment about the 'shiny' natural micarta got me curious, so I rubbed some Claphams beeswax polish on my natural bandit, thinking it might leave it a little tackier than Ren Wax. It shined up and darkened just a little, but not like yours. It sounds like maybe yours was buffed as well.

Regarding Clapham's, I think anyone who keeps a collection of various waxes and oils around should try Clapham's. I go to it often for all sorts of materials - maybe as much as Ren Wax.

edited to add: the Claphams also cleaned up the end of the micarta near the blade, darkening the lighter area that rubs against the sheath. I would also think that Claphams would be good for protecting stored blades.
