Your right any collector who stays with custom knives for 5 years or more. Goes through several changes in their buying habits.
One thing I would caution you on is banking too heavily on a makers "name". Many well known makers hit a plateau (for a number of reasons) never to move from it. It is at this point that they and their knives become a liability to a collector.
So try to identify this tendency and be ready to act before others notice it.
