Oh well. Its Dinkel Acker time.

Man that sucks bro!!:thumbdn:

This economy is hurting alot of good people....

Did it come as a surprise or did you see it coming?

That really stinks.
Feel free to gripe to us.
If there is anything we can do to help, let us know.
If all is well with your family, then this is just a small bump in the road of life.

Hang tough, you will get through this. Maybe you can put more time into your side job now.

I feel for you Andy. Do you have any knives available so we can help?

I'm way over-knifed, but it's for a good cause!

Damn, Andy, I'm sorry to hear that. We're starting to see a LOT of layoff's and shut downs out this way. I'm kind of starting to get worried.
But I guess if worse comes to worse I'll just go to work for the B.O.P., the County Jail or the City Po-Po's (though I don't want to do any of those three).

Smoke and prayers, brudda. Though with the quality of steel you make you'll probably get through in fine fashion!

Pullin' for you, brother. Take care.

sorry bro ill drink some homebrew tonight for you and everyone else thats hurting in this economy

Sorry to hear! We've been going through layoffs at work and I've just been waiting my turn. Good luck!

Crap.

OK. Now your job ... is to get a job. Treat it that way and you'll be employed again much sooner.

I'm pullin' for ya!

WHAT! That sucks big time bro. You know I'm only a phone call away if you need anything.

You guys help all the time. By encouraging me in, and supporting my passion. I'm going to do more knives, and put out some resume's. My kids are safe and healthy. I'll get through.

Of course you will.

If you can use more than moral support, just let us know.

Remember ... it's the old boy (or old girl) network that gets the jobs. Works much better than just shopping resumes. So talk with those you know and start looking to meet new people.;)

Smoke and prayers sent from here. Sorry to hear that. So far, I have been able to avoid that, but as my employer contributes much to those who have been going through rough financial times, I am affraid that it might be only a matter of time. Hope all is well, and if help is needed, please don't be shy in saying so. We are all in this together, in one way or another. IMHO, from what I have seen, you will survive.

Matt

Damn brother, that really blows.... Sorry to hear that. Youre a tough guy, you will make it no prob...

You need anything, im here man...

Sorry to hear that. I was laid off in Jan. of this year so i know how it is. Get yourself signed up for unemployment ! The only 2 ways to do that is by phone or online.Online is the way to go as getting thru. on the phone is near impossible. In case you don,t have the info there site is fluidnow.com I was floored that there is NO office to go to in person. It also takes a few weeks to get youre 1st check so get it done right away !

Look at it as way to become a fulltime knifemaker ! Both times that i,ve been laid off in the last 20yrs. It turned out to be a blessing,i hope it turns out to be the same for you !

I'm sorry to hear this as well; however, I couldn't help but think that this might be the catalyst that pushes you toward your goal of fulltime knife making. Hopefully, you'll get some sort of reasonable severance and/or another gig sooner rather than later. As others have said, if there is anything we can do to help, let us know.

Good luck, Andy, that's really too bad. As they say though, when one door closes, another opens.
