Laid off

Keep thinking positive thoughts. Family, friends are the most important in life. It took me 14 months to get work again. It is rough, but things are starting to roll. I am seeing an increasing need to fill jobs. A few months ago it was dead. I keep in my prayers, remember character is like steel, strenghten by fires of life.

Thanks ST. Hopefully I sell so many knives that I'm not interested in going to work for someone else again.

Still pulling for you, Andy. Also, I'm a shameless whore for Fiddleback Forge:D I show off my Woodman whenever I get the chance, and I have your business card splayed out on my sales counter at work. (Nice eye-catching design having it go the "wrong" way on the card, btw). My customers aren't exactly your clientele, but hey, it doesn't hurt, right?;) I know some of them really appreciate a good knife.

I get compliments on my carry knife often by some of my customers. Wait until they see the Woodsman's osage handle..or better yet, hold it:thumbup:

Best wishes, man. I'll be joining the ranks of the partially-employed soon. We can talk about it when I see ya next...

John

I posted this thread on the day I got laid off and went full time. I didn't even dare admit at the time that full time knifemaking was my goal.

I don't know if this is ok to say or not.....but I for one am glad you got laid off.....:)

Post #42 pretty much sums it up. ;)

Things have a way of sorting itself out, huh?

That was a bad time for several of us. I had gotten laid off four times (yes from the same company) from June to December 15th of 2008. I was really upset at first. I had no idea it would turn out to be the best thing to ever happen to me.

I can't say how glad I am that both of us got our lay offs :)

So if Andy gets laid off now from the forge, the possibilities are endless.

Fast forward to 2020... "I was scared to admit at the time that it was my intent to become a global religious leader for peace on earth".

Oh shit... This guy. When I see vayu has posted I always read intently. After is ISO fiddleback that enjoys long walks on the beach. Always gonna get a good chuckle from him.

Well, that worked out great for all of us it seems, thank your former employer for me for firing you pls

Ha. Best post ever. LOL.

It sure did work out. I visited the unemployment office the following Monday, spent half a day there, and left there positive I wasn't going to file. I went hard at full time knifemaking instead and was blessed that you folks liked the tools I make. It still blows my mind.

I remember this. This was also the beginning of my apprenticeship. That was a loooooooooooooooooooooooooong time ago. LOL
