Lanny's Clip Thread

Awesome!! Love the ebony. Looks like a perfect specimen.
I have this one headed my way, should be here later this week.

Thanks! I'm a sucker for ebony. Yours looks like a great specimen, too!

I'll add my latest Lanny's from the Master from Utah, Jared Oeser.

Oeser has an incredible eye for making the old new, without crossing over into modern/technical (for lack of better terms)-- he continually refreshes traditional aesthetics without overriding them to make a visual point. In this case, it's the shield that really does it for me. Beautiful knife!

Thanx for the praise worthy comments, he certainly is the future of Traditional Knife makering. When I first became
interested with Jared, I came up with the phrase "Traditional with a Twist", he uses that as the heading on his new website.
BTW, J's new site is SUPER, take a look if you haven't as yet...

Thanks steve. It's actually thunderstorm Kevlar. Has a really nice color to it. Pepe Jalomo put a texture on the Kevlar so it looks/feels somewhat like canvas Micarta.

Just found this thread and as it so happens I won the Blade Show Giveaway back in June and the knife was a Lanny's Clip. A pattern I'd always been interested in but figured it would stay on my wishlist, (bein' on a fixed income knife purchases must be justified and I have many other patterns already that could do the same job).

As it so happened I entered the giveaway and a few days later I got a pm from Steven65 on Blade Forums who hosted the Blade Show Giveaway to notify me I'd won and he'd send the knife before he went back home to South Africa which happens to be where JD Ellis the maker is from. 2 days later it arrived and the POW even called to let me know they had it to go out for delivery the next day or they were open till 5:30 pm for me to pick it up. You know I went and picked it up ;) :).

Here it is a 2016 JD Ellis Lanny's Clip with a Blue G-10 frame, red paper micarta liners, maroon linen micarta bolsters and natural canvas micarta scales. F&F were unbelievable, no gaps, backspring flush in all 3 positions (closed, halfstop, open) . Without further delay here's the JD Ellis Lanny's Clip with Sandvik 12C27 blade and back spring.
