I'm usually fine with a smaller blade, but I do carry a 4" Recon on occasion. Solid knife, lightweight when size is considered, bargain priced and very ergonomic.

The Spyderco Military is another favorite, though I don't own one currently. Maybe Santa will be good to me and drop one off.

Maybe Santa will offer you a steel upgrade military with s110. Very solid steel.

Been carrying a Benchmade 810 Contego for EDC lately, and I've grown to like larger blades. And before someone says "you have no use for a large folder", save it. I want to know who else carries a large folder for EDC?

Totally.
I almost bought the 810 just for the M390 and the blade length. The handle shape wasn't really what I was looking for in a non hard use, non SD knife so I hesitated. I saw the 710 and that was just what I was looking for and bought that. Yes the more I carry EDC, especially for the One Knife Challenge the more I appreciate a blade around four inches. Food prep mostly but gets some use at work that the longer blade is welcome for.

Someone here said always carry a longer knife . . . you never know when someone is going to show up with a birthday cake and no way to cut it. Do you really want to take that chance of not getting a piece ?

Next fave is my CS Ti Lite full flat ground into a civilized EDC. Great, great, great ! Love that thing. Doesn't mean I don't have a Spyderco Cricket or a SAK Mini Champ in the other pocket for when I need to have more control at the tip.

Heck I would carry my CS Hold Out I but it is just too scary for the people I work and hangout with. I just use it when I am working by my self. (six inch blade). Really nice in the pocket and in use. You don't "get it" until you actually try one. Good stuff.

The PERFECT Endura.

Just got my first one.
I LIKE THAT KNIFE !
Used it just this evening.
It is in my pocket now.
One Month Pledge ? ? ? ? I'm such a failure. I'm just too knife promiscuous for OMP. I admit it.

Daily carried a 4" folder since '96 when I got my Applegate-Fairbairn while working on Ft. Wainwright. Back then principally as a dedicated defensive tool carried IWB (as I used to also daily a Swisschamp in leather belt sheath w/ a steel for maintenance). Daily carry of a legal limit blade puts you in good company, and prepared for most task you might see.

Times have changed, but a ~4" blade is ..., well just kinda minimum base carry in my mind.
EDIT: Yes, I do own and enjoy a number of non-Spydie knives. These three though are pretty exceptional values in my mind.

A little choppa penetration play (lightening strike tree).

Working some Lilac hardwood enjoying the nice sharp spine grind on this knife (debarking & shaving fuzz).

K2 - First sharpening after a few days testing with factory edge. Almost to the tip with 200grit @ 20-dps (aggressively whittling hair):
