You are correct BmoreJeff!! Large Sebenza 25 Prototype #19 was sold on the bay recently!! Another one of our fellow members snaged it!! I wont say who but I look forward to a detailed review!! (Another ryme) And no it was not I.I think one sold on here or the bay a few days back
I think your right felix!! Thats Awesome!! It would be great to see some detailed pictures of your Prototype! Many of us have only seen the stock photos.I love my Sebenza 25 Prototype 16/25. Back when I bought it, people called me insane. Now more and more people are starting to ask me if I would be willing to sell it for original $2500 price. NO WAY! Sebenza 25 is a revolutionary model and is becoming huge. This ended up being a great investment and will continue to be over time !!!
Mine is a user from Feb 11th with the press fit pin and it's marked A12.
Peter
Thanks for the great information Anthony!! I apologize for the confusion. The birthday on my 25 is 2-14-13 if it adds any value to the quest at hand cause I'm still confused. I'll have to read the posts several times to be unconfused.
More data:
Date card: January 29, 2014.
Threaded and solid (no lines machined) stop pin.
B13 on both scales.
I chose from 5 knives that all came in this shipment, each had a discernable difference in deten strength, and smoothness of action. All made same day, same markings. None were sharp enough to shave hair.
I'm still here brothers.. I hope to do an update this weekend with data gathered here (thanks to all of you!!) and what I have gathered elsewhere on the net. Of course my research is (if you can call it that) focused on the "early" production 25's which include the first production run of 29 made in 2012 and the later production runs in the first quarter of 2013 with the press fit stop pin. Of course my pursuit of the Ultimate Umnumzaan Collection continues..So Mikepapa, if I'm reading this all right, there are only a few dates given that the 25 was "born" on? Jan 29, 31, Feb 11, etc.. Maybe you should have a poll created as Chili77 mentioned, like at the top of this, or another thread? With all the known dates, and folks can click their date accordingly. That way anyone and everyone can see, and perhaps others that may just browse the CRK forum, but never speak up, they could then input as well. I don't even know how you'd go about it, but we've all seen polls before, so it's possible. These recent 25 threads have made me keep my eyes out for any 25's that may be for sale with the earlier birthdates. You know, just to put away, and maybe 10 years down the road they may be valuable, who knows.. If anything it'll be a backup! (but we all know this blade will never need a backup! haha)
This thread both ruined and sold me on getting a 25 again. Thanks guys! I realized that the SEB 25 is what I like most. This is an amazing folder. Minty fresh from JAN 2014....I've just come around full circle. With the updates to the 25 it's calling me back....I just can't get past the harpoon shape on the Star Tac. So I'm letting her go. Email me if interested.
