Yeah, I wouldn't recommend using BF if you don't own it. It could lead to some confusion and that's the last thing you want with your logo. I cleaned up the above version I submitted as well as added another version. I didn't have a lot of time to work on them but it's a start. If I have time throughout the week I'll try to add some more.

I tried to take a clean and simplistic approach considering it's a logo and you want it to be identifiable. Below is a grayscale and duotone version. Colors can change depending on branding. In the second version I decided to use the USMC K-Bar because of it's history as a well established iconic battle blade :). If you would like to see some different variations just let me know.

I like Kniferman's top suggestion
another approach might be to use the F as a hilt
(pic submitted to illustrate the idea only, I leave the execution to anyone interested & with talent)

Thanks fishface5 that's a good idea. I'll try it tomorrow.

kniferman and blackofwhite... those are some SLICK logos. Way to go, I know it's all on Spark's decision, but those would have my vote!

Rough sketch because I just want to put the idea out there before I do actual designing on the computer. Lemme know what you think.

Sorry about the bad phone quality picture.

I'm seeing some great designs so far. Nothing perfect yet, but you guys are amazing the hell out of me.
