blackofwhite, I like this one. May I suggest an old timey knife shield such as this one for the background (instead of the circle).

I was thinking something like the shield or a simple coat of arms type design with the bf in it and bladeforums dot com under or something of that nature.

I'm not sure if it's too complex... whatever floats Spark's (pirate) boat ;) but I was thinkin' more along the lines of a knife shield such as the one below. I suppose those mostly interested in modern knives might not recognize an old knife shield but it's simple and I like the traditional aspect to it.

Worked up a handful of designs, included rough ideas for possible color breaks too... all are simple and meet the requirement for 1 color...

I dont have imaging software to do this, but I was thinking of the bowie knife tip with knifeman's writing style in it.

Edit: to explain the tag line, i shortened it for conciseness. you already know it's a forum so no need to have knife discussion included. it's more direct and a faster read.

Does this mean we'll be getting new shirts? I haven't fully worn out my original - although, it has been to Alaska, most US western states, Nicaragua, Guatamala, Belize, Costa Rica, and some place called Tejas...hell, it's even spent time in Canuckistan... ;)

BTW, some nice work there guys!

Kniferman I love them all; I thinkk the one with the Kabar underneath is the most iconic (although looking at it maybe removing the top hilt might be better since it doesn't match the thickness of the F?), but that 3-knife logo is absolutely awesome! That is some excellent clean commercial art right there, kudos.
Blackofwhite - adding the knife was the missing element, now it looks cool as hell
Gene - those are some great deigns but I must say that separating blade & forums into 2 words in a layer looks good but may increase the possibility of people being confused and thinking BFC is an arm of Blade magazine, whereas keeping it one word lessens that possibility.
(IMHO as to all of the above)

Yeah i actually worried about that, its just that BladeForums is rather long, thought i'd try splitting it to see about keeping it in a more compact space
i may have more, i'll have to see... these came out of the ole noggin wednesday... i'll see if i can coax anymore out
id like to explore more options sans knife icon... it's likely a tougher sell but could be done successfully
case in point alot of knife companies dont have knives in their logos, etc.
Hmmmm now ya got me thinking again :D
