It's looks inspired by Kikuo Matsuda's designs. Well, if there's ever a Chinese made knife I'm getting next, it'll be that one. Do you know what model name/number that is?

I see. Are they done in small runs, or are they done by individual special order only?

Is the blade ferric chloride/acid etched, or was the pattern applied by some other method?

1) they are done in small runs.
2) I really don't know in which way they get that style. but the blade is very strong.

I really like the looks of this thing. How thick is the blade? I wish the top of the blade wasn't taperd, it would be better for batoning.

Edit: Ninja'd by Apec. :p

I'm going to sand out those awful ridges in the micarta and strip the cheezy pattern off the blade. That's gonna be my new camp buddy without the mall accouterments. ;^) The blade/handle shape looks like it would make for an excellent small chopper, and it has some nice jimping too. I'm a sucker for black micarta. though it may need to be dyed after I sand out the ridges. ATS-34 ain't too shabby, and the kydex sheath is very nice.

I eye-balled that knife for a while ,kind of afraid it might not actually be ats-34 ?? almost to good to be true,
.There is also a Bear Grylls Bayley copy with ats-34 same dilemma

I think this is the real deal. They have a picture of it on a Rockwell and it's reading 62.5. I suppose it could be faked. I dunno, seems like going to a lot of trouble if it wasn't accurate.

I actually have one of those Y-Start neckers and was impress with the FF. My only issue is with the shallow HG. It doesn't make for a very good slicer.

A Sanrenmu 710 and a Navy K602. Both very smooth.

I also have a Cold Steel Kudu which is also made in China. All 3 are excellent knives.

David, I am in shanghai right now, any good websites to recommend? I normally buy from taobao

I love this company, I've been EDCing an Ares A for a few months before I start distributing for them and have not been more shocked and happy with a Chinese brand knife. Totally changed my view on Chinese owned knife companies and have since ordered a couple of Enlan and SRM knives and can't wait to get my hands on them. If you go with a Chinese knife, make sure its from a Chinese knife company and not some shit cloning company.
