LM Charge Ti/XTi.........does anybody happen to know when this new tool will be released? i did a google-search and one site claimed it would be released in as far away as august  , that seems a little bit late, or is it true?

by the way, will the Charge come with the pocket-clip and quick-release lanyard included or will those accesoiries be sold separately?

by the way, i think i'm the first poster on this new forum

grts and tia for any help,
dennis

I heard summer for the charge Ti release, but I can't remember where I read that. The pocket clip and lanyard are included.

If it helps, Leatherman usually introduces new products at the SHOT show in January or February and then releases them in the Fall in plenty of time for Christmas. August or September would be typical. I would assume the Charge as well as the other new products will follow the same course of events.

I emailed Leatherman about the Charge and the Charge Ti. They replied that they would be available the end of July, beginning of August.

This does look like a great tool. I'm really excited about this one, almost seems perfect. I'm not really crazy about the wait, but hopefully it will be worth it!

this is 100% a MUST HAVE! Ti handles and 154cm blades, pure heaven!

Do anyone know the specification of Charge Ti and Charge XTi? Charge Ti look very similar to Wave.

:( :( :(

I am very excited abiout these. I guess begtwen now and then I'll have time to decide on the Ti and XTi. Right now I'm leaning toward the XTi. It doesn't have scissors, but hey thats what my Micra is for. :D I also think the extra bits may come in handy.

From http://store.knifecenter.com/pgi-ProductSpec?LMWAVE
original Wave ($64.95)
From http://www.equipped.org/shot_show_2004_knives.htmd
improve and revised the Wave ($87)
Charge Ti and Charge XTi (both $124)

I think Charge is too expensive. May be considering the wave which is $87. $40 more just for the titaniam handles? I dunno u guys but i am certainly not that paying that much more for the titanium handles since the handle of my original supertool works fine. So for $40 less i guess i am ok with the steel handle in the improve and revised the Wave.

Don't forget that all the tools lock on the Charges. Also, the handles look far more comfortable. People complained how the edges of the handles were uncomfortable (even painful) on the older models when the pliars were being used. So they switched directions on the Wave...but now the sharp edges dig into your hands when you use the outer blades. Looks like they finally got it right on the Charge.

The new Wave will have locking tools as well. The only difference is that the Wave will not be titanium and the baldes won't be 154CM.

I still think Charge is too expensive. Seriously $40 more for titanium handles and a 154cm blade? This being said if have alot of money to spare which i dont i will also prefer the Charge. I know the titanium handles will make it lighter, the grip better and better rust resistent. But the rest of it is still stainless steel so proper maintainece is still needed. And i dont think cleaning the steel handle is a difficult task, the difficult part are the tools inside. Anyway this is just what i think. One more thing i do think Charge is better with titanium handles but as for cost vs funtion i do not agree for the titanium handles and the 154cm blade offer little advantage.

Didn't notice that they updated the Wave. Looks pretty much identical to the Charge Ti apart from the 154CM blade and Ti handles.

The Ti handles save a whopping .1 ounces of weight. So unless the Ti handles provide the comfort I'm hoping for, I might pass entirely. The Blast however looks like it might suit my tastes quite well.
