Leaving a Legacy...Rest in Peace Grandpa

So sorry to hear Garth. It sounds like an end of an era for your family and friends. Chester sounded like he epitomised the term 'role model' for just about all of us. A man like that will leave a legacy that is one of legend. All the best mate to you and yours from us.

Deepest condolences Garth. My wife and I were just talking about losing our grandparents. We have only one left between us, a grandmother on my wife's side that I claim as well. Such a vast amount of knowledge leaves the world with these good people. I hope the memories you have bring many happy stories to be shared among your family. Take care friend.

98 years old and tough as nails, great family patriarch and what a gift to make it to that ripe old age. Just the way you described him Garth, I can clearly say, there goes a great man, may he rest in peace.

Amazing tribute. Godspeed to him, condolences to you and your family, Garth.

We're all here for ya.

Fair winds and following seas.

My thoughts go out to you and your family, Garth. Thanks for taking time to tell us about him—what an inspirational man and life. I see in you so much of what you described in him. I’m sure he did, too.

Garth,

I am sorry for your loss. My dad was born about 2 years before your grandpa, and they share some of the same attributes, like when you said "I swear he could fix or build anything", that reminded me very much of my father. My dad was fiercely self-reliant – he was old enough to remember the Great Depression, and I'm sure most people had no choice but to be self-reliant in those days. I'm glad you have a lot of fond memories of your grandpa. Take care.

What a great tribute you wrote Garth. You are so blessed to have had a man like that in your life. What a life he led.

Very sorry to hear this, Garth. My condolences to you and your family.

That said, you have a lot to be proud of. Your Grandpa sounds like a wonderful man.

Truly sorry for your loss, my sincerest condolences

Sorry for your loss, all my grandparents have been gone a while now but not a day goes by that I do not think of them.

Sorry to hear it, man. Grandpas can often teach you as much or more about being a good father than your own father can. My dad was an absolutely great father to me and my brother but seeing how much the grown-ups in my family still loved their fathers (my grandfathers) always stood out to me and gave me two more constant shining points to help me navigate my way through my own jouney as a father.

Very sorry for your families loss my brother.
Prayers sent for your whole family.

My condolences for the loss of a great man to you and your family. There is some comfort in knowing his values and legacy will be kept alive in you and all those he touched during his time here. Stay strong, sir.

My Condolences on your loss Garth, Grandpa Chester lives on in you, and memories will be in your heart always.
