Recommendation? Legal advice

I recently met a girl and she's kind of in a bad spot right now. Some of its money issues but the other problem is her ex. Apparently he was abusive (she said he manhandled her) and she left him a while ago but he won't leave her alone. She doesn't have any of her stuff with her, her clothes and other items are at his place and she's scared to go back. She has been doing escorting out of her apartment because she doesn't have a car and it pays the rent. He was on websites saying she's a thief and talking all kinds of shit. He told the apartment manager she was prostituting and now he's suspicious of her, she's not allowed visitors after 10. I've never seen this guy but she told me he's about my size and a little shorter. I could beat the shit out of him but I'd rather get some kind of legal protection if I can. I met her as an escort and she said I was very nice compared to the rest of the people she's seen. We had a long talk last night and this all came out. She doesn't like doing it, she's good at it, but she wants out. She lives about 45 minutes from me and as much as I would like to I can't get there that fast if he decides to pay an unwelcome visit. I was thinking about some kind of restraining order, but I don't know anything about this stuff.
Sigh ....

Unfortunately people in this line of work lose a lot of credibility when it comes to legal matters, not knowing more it does sound like perhaps she's looking for financial assistance, my advice would be to advise her to cut her losses and not look back and to proceed with caution yourself as others have suggested.

How does she look on a scale of 1 to 10?

Dude, you are 20, now is not the time to be spending money on "escorts" and especially not the right time to try and get involved in something that will possibly end with you:

In jail
Broke
Beat up
Dead

Or any combination thereof. Also getting involved in something like can seriously screw up your future career opportunities. Trust me, I have seen this happen to people.

Lose her number, take a break and then go meet a chick who does not require you to pay for spending time with her.

Yes. Dateline has enough “true crime” for this season and the next and the next.

I keep hearing the voice of Keith Morrison…

I am curious since it seems on topic in this thread. The girl in question is being called an escort and accused of being a prostitute by her ex to her landlord. What is the difference really? I believe I have heard the more legal definition that an escort is not paid to sleep with you while that is all a prostitute is paid for and it is just common courtesy for the escort to do so.

Well not the response I was expecting. I'm not going to drop it. I see what you all are saying about getting used, but I have no reason to below she's lying, I guess I have no reason to believe she isn't but until I find out either way I'm going to try to help her.

You've really wedged yourself into that proverbial rock and hard place situation mate. I'm assuming she's got your real name, address, phone #, etc.... and is now EXPECTING your help.

Best case scenario is she's telling the truth and you're risking ex-boyfriend drama and an STD. Worst case scenario is you're a mark and the pair of them are going to make your life considerably worse in the short term.

If you can bankroll it I think your best option is to move, change your #, delete your social media accounts and give her some $ for help. That way you'll drop completely off of their radar and if she did legitimately need to get away she can afford a bus ticket and a cheap hotel room wherever she ends up. If she's turning to a John for help then she doesn't have any real friends or family, nothing tying her to the location but a crappy ex.

My bet would be that whatever she takes you for will just end up in a pipe, but who knows.

You most definitely are the only person who can save this girl! You need to marry her as soon as possible to protect her!
Get her moved into your place first and go from there.
Good luck!

That's also an option. Like Pretty Woman. That worked out nice. Can't see how this could end up any different.

You don't pay a hooker for sex.

You pay a hooker to leave and to keep her mouth shut.;):D

Classic scam dude. The most basic of the basic. Find a fool you can manipulate with a simple sob story. Promise or give the illusion that helping will be kindly rewarded. The pimp will be in on it without question. So will his security team. The comment about not having friends or family is a clear red flag that she's done this before but and moved on to a new place.
