Let’s talk about SOCKS

I wear cowboy boots a lot and cannot deal with low socks. I wear socks that are footed but come up to my knee. When I wear hiking boots I have smart wool brand socks, but my feet sweat to the point I feel like I am standing in water. I have yet b to find "the" pair or brand off socks.

So before I started buying balegas for running I used to buy a brand called Feetures. They were pretty good socks also with a lifetime warranty. One sock developed a hole eventually so I thought I would test the warranty out. I called the contact number to determine the proper procedure. A nice lady answered. I told her what I wanted. She asked how long I had the socks and I told her a few years. She then asked if I got my money's worth out of them? I somewhat sheepishly told her I had and to have a nice day. YMMV.

I went through many many different brands over the years and finally found Duluth Trading Co.'s 7 Year Performance socks...over the calf. These never fall/slip down and last exactly 7 years (of hard/active use) before starting to fray.

Just joined Team Darn Tough a few months ago after having been wearing Ballston socks for about ten years. It's not easy thinking what you have is great just to try something new and make you want to question your whole life. The Ballstons are still great but man does Darn Tough make a comfy sock.

same here, and for me, those socks are Dickies light compression over the calf socks. if I dont go over the calf, my boots eat my socks and I'll lose whatever sanity I have left

when wearing non western boots, its dickies, darn tough, or smartwool
for the 9 days a year I wear tennis shoes, its whatever low cut regular cotton sock somebody put in my drawer

After reading this thread, I feel like a bum thinking JC Pennys Gold Toe were the premium in socks.
if they work for ya, youre good.

I like thorlo military ones especially the desert hot weather ones. work for my boots I wear daily. keep my feet cooler than wool and wool blends ive tried in the past. I only buy those when I get a sale email with a good discount. too pricey at full price.

I do have a bunch of other socks. some wrangler made in usa boot socks and even some gold toe in white crew style I wear when im working on the property. they've done fine and are comfortable enough.

Since I mentioned Zion National Park and the amazing socks I discovered, I thought I’d share a quick video of one of our hikes.

Hard to put into words how incredible, beautiful and breathtaking it is. Can’t wait to go back.

If you ever go, rent an E-bike so you can hike your own paths and stay away from all the massive crowds of people!!!!!!!!

China, Taiwan, Peru and rare few made in usa. its a designed in usa made whereever they can get it made type company. heavy marketing, no factory......
Based on their extremely strange off-putting commercials with very freakish looking " models " I am not at all surprised that they are this kind of company.
That and the fact that they were on Shark tank years ago, they really really hate working with anybody that insists on domestic manufacturing.
