Nice. That's a sweet looking knife that also looks very functional. Unfortunately I'm so happy with my Izula I can't imagine ever replacing it. Especially for the price. I doubt this Izula will ever fail in my lifetime and if it does, I know it's covered.

I've been using my Kalista for a "woods" blade off and on for a couple years now. After I cleaned the coating off and polished it up it's quite a good little performer.

Alright, that did it. Another knife that I want but don't need. I guess I'll have to check one out. I wonder what it would be like wearing two neck knives at the same time. :D Yikes, I just found the price! Maybe someday.

This is my RAT Izula kit. It has a small firesteel light and a little tinder bound to kydex by inner tubing.

I love neck knives. My first one was a very capable little Camillus Cuda necker I picked up for $15. My second was a Murray Carter Muteki -- at $140 for a laminated blade custom with nice ironwood and great kydex, it is still hands-down my best buy so far. Still my favorite knife:

I really like my Tom Krein Ultimate Caper. Great F&F, and I always appreciate good kydex. Can't wait to pick up another small Krein.

Counterclockwise from upper right: Murray Carter forged Wharncliffe Brute necker, Blind Horse Knives Patch Knife (beautiful, sharp necker for an amazing price), and the same Carter Muteki necker from first few pics.

This little Ecos Knives blem showed up today. I've been wanting to check Ecos out. $23 shipped (!!!) for a cool little carbon steel handmade necker. Can't beat it.

I liked my John Wylie Jr necker while I owned it. Again, at just over $100 for an outstanding handmade D2 neck knife, the OP has affordable custom options.

One of my favorite neck knife designs is the Bark River Mini Northstar. Here is my curly maple MNS (pic outdated, I recently replaced the pins with mosaic):

...and my maroon micarta MNS:

One of my favorite neckers ever was this BRKT Little Creek proto in outstanding JeffH kydex. If Mtnfolk Mike ever wants to trade or sell back, he should let me know. :D

All together now (both MNS have JeffH kydex):

i really like the koster w&ss forum knife but i can't find one anywhere i saw one on the exchange but it was sold already

What is the story with that MercHarness, is it worth buying as opposed to just making one?

Marion

I wouldn't buy one. In fact, I've been using one I made out of 550 cord and the shock cord from a field jacket long before I ever heard of anyone selling or even using such a carry system. I should have patented it.

Yeah, the concept has been around awhile.

But, in all fairness, MerCop did make it more accessible to the regular guy.

If you want a production NK, I would definitely go with an Izula. However, I would take a look at our custom makers as well. They can make nice neck knives as well.

Here is my current one.....

I'm thinking of getting a version of the ML Short Survivalist next !

http://www.mlknives.com/huntingbowiescamp3.html

this guy is so easy to do business with
and i love his knives
had him make me one
picked up two on this forums' sale page
score!
have ya checked out his folders?
http://mlknives.jalbum.net/MLKnivesPastworks4/slides/stagfrictionfolderdroppoint.html
sweeet!
having him make me one of these right now
and his prices
for the beauty and function of his blades
are no more and often way less
than many production knives out there

You lucky son of a gun, that is like a proto or something, right?

I will contribute again...

I always looked with a certain lust after those AG Russell Woodwalkers, so I finally bought one....

And, since I just finished these, I will throw it in....
