^^^ The jigging on the brown Congress is wonderful!
Hey hey! Paul asked me to write up a review of my new GEC 61 congress so that's what I'm doing!
Thank you very much VE!
I do not have a version from GEC which has the spear (or large pen as I think they called it). I also don't have one with the sheepcliffe mains so it's good to hear that it's working nicely for you, I was worried that they might have tried to put too much into the wells but evidently not.
Can you tell me, does the frame have a steel liner within the brass on both sides or just the mark side?
- Paul
You mean a steel liner between the wood and the brass?

In between the blades and the brass liner, there is a steel insert that allows a little more room for the crimped blades to move - this assists in the anti blade rub department. I'm away from home on a course so I can't check my own #61 four blade, o know that my #62 half congress has this on just one side, and on your picture it's evident on the mark side but I can't tell if it's on the pile side too.

Anyone ever carry a GEC #13 Speaker Jack as an edc? I'm really fancying one of the few factory 2nds left on retail. Figured that big ol' sheepsfoot (lambsfoot?) would come in real handy opening/breaking down boxes and would really shine in the kitchen.
