You bloody showoff Chip! ;)

Hey Keith, I really like that Taylor bowie! The damascus as the pommel is a fantastic idea...

Here's one from Jim Siska, 1995.

John.

Hey guys, i have this old Shrade Uncle Henry with a stag handle... i was just wondering how much u guys think this would b worth? if it helps, i'll post more details l8er.. and if i caan get a cam. workin i'll put up a pic

What a stunning stag handle this beauty from Ed Caffery has.

Namrepus, I don't know if i can help or not, but i would need a lot more info than you provided. Pictures would be best.

Okay, i'll try and take a picture, i dont hav a digital camera here right now, but i'll maybe take it with a webcam, would that work? i will get my digital camera back sometime this week then take a picture with it.. thanks

Another stag beauty from Jason Howell. This bowie has a 9 3/4" in damascus blade made from 1084 and 15N20. Overall length is 14 1/2". Nice huh?

And another from Jerry Fisk. This is one of my favorite knifemakers. The bowie below has a 7 1/2" 1084 blade and is 12" overall. The guard is nickel silver.

Keith, it is hard to beat a Fisk bowie...that is a great style.

Hey, do you have a list of 'traditional makers'? I would love to have it if yes...

I don't have a list or "traditional" makers, Guy. There are just so darn many of them. If you are interested in any particular style let me know and I would be glad to give you the names of those that I know of that make that style. Makers that do traditional fixed blade knives that I have bought from, or that I have knives on order from are: Ed Fowler, Jerry Fisk, Rick Dunkerley, John Fitch and Al Pendray.

The knife that is pictured below is one of the finest stag handled knives that I have ever seen. The maker of this knife almost always works in sheep horn, but this one has a stag handle to kill for. One day I am going to see if I can get him to make me one like this. Guess who the maker is. :D

Wow...I wonder who the maker is..... A bloody good one i would guess...:D

Post a pic when you get yours!

Well, those names will do me Keith, I am going to concentrate on my stag collection a little more now. Here is a Rick Fowler one I will probably buy. There is just something about it.

No fair, it's a trick question. This knife was a collaboration of two makers and it was a part of a set with an Ax. I got to handle them at last year's Blade Show. When I first saw it I thought I was dreaming, this is my Ultimate Dream Knife.

Guy, thatt looks like Ricky Fowler's Model #146 in stag. TK had a feature story on this knife in the first copy of that magazine I ever bought. I liked it so much that I made a copy of it in wood, (before I started buying custom knives).

Thats the very knife PhilL...I like it...

Do you remember how the story went? I would love it if somebody could scan it for me...

Here's my copy of that knife.
