You finally pushed me over the edge with this pic, Mike...I just got off the phone with Pat Crawford (one hell of a nice guy, by the way). He had 2 left in stock...now he has one.

I also got a super necker/pocket EDC from Whit here on BF. O1 with nice desert ironwood. I love it, so far!

I have several neck knives but the favorite is a A G Russell Woodswalker in a kydex sheath, its made in japan which will be off putting to some but it takes a edge very well is light , has a great grip and is very inexpensive, great for small game, camp use , firesticks etc and I paid about 22 bucks for it, avery good buy in my opinion. You can also order it even cheaper with a leather pocket sheath. I fish the white river in a jon boat and it is always handy in the boat.

I plan on getting myself one of those soon. Nice looking ironwood! It must slice like the devil!

I guess I like to keep things simple. I have converted a Frosts Mora Clipper into a neck-knife. Light weight, 4-inch blade to accomplish just about anything I need while, hiking, camping or hunting. It is available in 1095 high carbon steel or the great 12C27 Sandvik stainless. For canoeing or rafting etc. I would go with the stainless. I prefer the 1095 for camping and hiking. Both steels are excellent. The 1095 hardened to about 60 on the Rockwell scale. I believe the Sandvik stainless is about 57-58.

You can find both of these at ragweedforge.com. Great prices and Ragnar is great to deal with.

The Clipper is lightweight, fits the hand extremely well, has great steel and is very inexpensive--$12.00. With a 4-inch blade I can do just about anything I need.

For city carry I would recomend the Boker Subcom Fixed blade or the A.G. Russell Woodswalker. check your local ordinances on knife carry though. Both blade lengths are munisipal friendly in most areas.

The idea of pointing a knife at my throat in order to sheath it ensures that my neck knives hang from a peg in the workshop, and not around my neck.
I think a neck knife is appropriate for some things, like if you were naked and had nowhere to clip your folding knife to or belt to hang a proper knife from. That being said, little fixed blades are really neat, and the best to pull double duty from belt to neck that I've handled is a Benchmade Activator.
