I don't agree with this analogy. I think the purpose of Damasteel is to provide both beauty and performance. From what little I know about damasteel (from reading about it before/after I purchased mine at BLADE is the Damasteel flat out performs. That combined with the beauty of the pattern is enough for me. I am not a collector. I use my knives so I was always a bit hesitant to purchase a damascus blade CRK. I know many use them and I am sure I was just overthinking it but the Damasteel seems to alleviate all my fears.Damasteel seems to be the equivalent of using MIM parts in a Wilson 1911. isn't the beauty of the CRK Damascus from Chad and others that it is made by masters of their craft and artistry that is designed by someone with knowledge and experience versus just being 'good and pretty'??
