Let's see some Damasteel

Damasteel seems to be the equivalent of using MIM parts in a Wilson 1911. isn't the beauty of the CRK Damascus from Chad and others that it is made by masters of their craft and artistry that is designed by someone with knowledge and experience versus just being 'good and pretty'??
I don't agree with this analogy. I think the purpose of Damasteel is to provide both beauty and performance. From what little I know about damasteel (from reading about it before/after I purchased mine at BLADE is the Damasteel flat out performs. That combined with the beauty of the pattern is enough for me. I am not a collector. I use my knives so I was always a bit hesitant to purchase a damascus blade CRK. I know many use them and I am sure I was just overthinking it but the Damasteel seems to alleviate all my fears.

To be frank, what I don't like is that I barely see any pattern at all, particularly in comparison to raindrop, ladder, or looking back in time, spirograph.

That is all my personal opinion, of course. And we know the old saying about opinions....

Most Damasteel does have a pattern. It's just this one doesn't really. Who know what CRK will offer in the future. From what we've heard the BT they used may not be available which may imply more structured patterns in the future.

Congrats Bill, to me this pattern is just gorgeous . . . Has a Zebra-ish look to it. Just the type of a bold pattern I'm waiting for. Hopefully, someday CRK will produce Damasteel in a large Seb. 21 with wood inlays for my Grail.
Enjoy it

This one is nice Bill! My favorite CRKs are the 25 and Inkosi platforms. I especially love my one with the Insingo blade in it!

Yours looks like a topo map!
