Exactly, that's been my main fear; that the area where the tanto starts gets rounded.

Thought about starting a new thread for this but figured I would ask it here. Half Track? Who has had or still has one? Do you think it is too small or perfect for what it is? If you have not owned one but thought about it, did its size make you hesitate?

I do not have one and never have. I think that is because I don't feel it offers anything over a XM-18 that I can customize if I want. I generally don't like all titanium handles, but there are some really nice aftermarket jobs such as Joe's above. The titanium on the MP-1 and Half track do nothing for me. I would definitely look at both if they had a G-10 scale though.

Definitely like the look of it but I was afraid it might be too small. Eyeing the MP-1 instead.


What do you think of the Half-Track? I saw you posted a few pics with your own personal one, how does it work for you? Does it feel much smaller in-hand than something like the MP-1 or XM-18's?
 
Good grief!
I used my M390 spanto to cut up some carpet a couple days ago and noticed today that there was some significant rolling along the edge. Went to touch it up tonight and realized how crazy obtuse the edge is. Seems like it's pushing 60 degrees inclusive. I'm probably going to try and reprofile it soon. That should be fun...

I love my Half Track. It is fun to flip and use. I have big hands and honestly do not think it is too small. I also have an MP-1 and love it. It is honestly probably a better EDC but the Half Track I have more fun with!

Hmm. Interesting. I noticed this as well. Didn't want to say anything until I gave it more time. I'm having to touch up the edge way more than I should in my opinion. I hand sharpened my edge. I opened a bag of belts for my grinder and it was like I took the edge and pressed it into the grit. The edge was very jagged. It sharpens easy though! Couple passes on the extra fine DMT and it is good to go. Just not what I was expecting from M390.

I don't own any Hinderer Knives with M390 but in other knives I have never had great luck with it. Strange though because CTS 204P has always been a great steel for me and they are basically the same steel.
