Lets see some Hinderer action

Where did you get that Sig Sauer scale ? I'm jealous ! LOL
It’s a Silencerco scale. Hinderer make a few runs of them in the past.

I don’t know why I didn‘t use that knife in this photo with my P220s.

Love that pivot! What’s the spec on that if you don’t mind? (IMO the clunky Hinderer Armorers tool is the most surefire way to scratch up your new XM!).

This is what I do:

- Order a TiConnector 3/8" Screw Pivot Set, Barrel Diameter: 1/4", Barrel Length: .425; cost is less than $12. They have different screws, you can pick a pattern that you like (see photo below).
- Depending on the scale, you might need to shorten the pivot by a mm or two. For example, it will be perfect for a Ti scale. But some G10 scales need the pivot to be shorter.
- The Pivot diameter will be ever so slightly too large. You need to thin it just a little, different amounts for different blades ("Pivot Lapping"). I put the new pivot in a drill, and sand with 800 grit paper until it fits just well enough that the blade will rotate freely. Don't need to polish, as the blade will do that later, any hinderer blade will be a little harder than the SS pivot.
- When assembling, I put red loctite on one side of the pivot, blue on the other. Easier to adjust, IMHO.

All my work knives are now like this, makes them easier to maintain, I feel. The TiConnector pivots are steel, but the screws Ti. So you can anodize them, too :)

Note that if you ever browse the custom knife maker section, you'll find that many of the makers there use TiConnector pivots, too. For example, Josh/REK used the same pivot in my Kuros. Quality is very high.

Gracias for the detailed info. These look great!

Blues Blues Love that sheepsfoot -- I just learned that these exist from Hinderer, and well, that's gotta be the next on my list. I just bought a skinny spanto 3.5" which is really nice, but I would have waited to track down a sheepsfoot had I known that exists. Is that a skinny or regular, 3" or 3.5"...? Just not sure in which configurations they were made.

The sheepsfoot is my one and only XM-24. It's a big fella and comes in at about 7 3/4 ounces. Battle Bronze on the lock side. Great knife.

I bought it from National Knives (a forum site supporter) a couple months back.

I didn't realize it was a 24 -- nice! My new 3.5" already feels big, so the 24 must be huge (I'm new to this, so I haven't held one yet). Maybe like the same idea as a Shirogorov 111? "El mas grande"
