Lets see some Hinderer action

Has anyone used an MXG Gear aftermarket deep carry clip on an XM-18? I like their Spyderco clips, but debating if I should try out a Hinderer one or stick with an OEM.
 
All of my Hinderers have them, but I don't have an XM-18. Oops, I guess not on the Maximus.

I've never messed with aftermarket clips on my Hinderers. The stock clip is one of the best in the business, and the carry depth is perfect for leaving a useful amount of handle to grab onto.

Yes, I have them on some of my knifes to make the knife less obvious, and they work well. XM18 & XM24:

They work great on the Fulltrack as you don't need the underlying plate, just need to dremel the G10 a little:

These days I prefer deep clips made from a guy in San Diego, they take forever to get, but the screws are countersunk. On an XM24:

I run them on the hinderers in my daily rotation. The construction is excellent and the knives are flush to the top of the pocket. Very easy to grab finger on clip and pull from the pocket. One thing to be aware of is that due to the fold over construction of the clip, it doesn't seat flush to the mounting hole at the back. I've never found this to be an issue, but thought you'd want to know going in.

I had a nice black Spanto and a cheap blue bowie with very scratched handle. I swapped blades (+ pivot and stop pin), as I like the bowie better. The other one is a work knife now.

What don't you like about it, if you don't mind? I have been considering picking up a smaller Hinderer, and am looking at either the Half Track or the 3in Eklipse.

Its not that i dont like it its just that i prefer something like a spyderco. Just going to get another shaman. I wanted to try out Hinderer and they are built impressively. But at the same time, the half “choil” cant be used as well as other knives. Its super enjoyable to flip and close but my heart just belongs elsewhere i guess lol
