Lets see some Hinderer action

Is there a way to fix this? Seems like it got worse with the Ti scale. Everything is tight.

Send it in to the Ranch. A $700 knife should NOT be doing that. I just sent a Socom Elite in to MT, for some very bad lock rock, I’m not sure how they can fix it, or if they will just send me a new one (mine is NIB anyway).
But I’ll be sure to post the results and how they handle the issue, good or bad. I’ve never sent a knife in to a manufacturer before, so I’m curious as to how the Ranch would take care of this.

Unfortunately it would be very difficult if not impossible to get rid of. You can contact RHK to see if they'll fix it.
IF???!!! Lol it’s a $500 production knife, with a $200 scale from the same manufacturer. I sure as hell would hope they will fix it! (Or make it right with the owner, whether it has to be replaced or even a voucher at the very least, if it cannot be fixed)

I was talking about being fixed By the end user. The manufacturer can certainly fix it if they choose to do so (in the worst case they can replace the lockside scale or the blade). And I agree with you they should, even for a $100 folder let alone a $500+ one.

Sharpened up my user Eklipse… and she’s running on PB washers now too, and it still flips good!

I tried to match the factory angles, which were about 24° according to my WE… way too much for the best cutting performance, but I don’t like the look of a huge bevel, unless it’s done REALLY well, and I’m not quite there yet lol
ETA: I switched back to bearings this morning lol so much for that,
but this thing is a beast, I went at it today like I usually do after a sharpenig…it can rip thru cardboard again and for the hell of it I cut up a few thick zip ties, like butter, and no chips or rolls, nada 👍

I noticed the same problem on my brand new slicer when I changed the scale for a titanium one (directly from the Ranch). I checked my other hinderers and noticed the same detent rock on 2 of the 6 others that I have. Hence I am also very interested in how the Ranch will respond to you.

Oh jeez now I’m afraid to look too. I have a few with ti scales. So apparently it is not something that you can notice when just flipping it normally? (Not trying to justify it, but that means I could have several with play, like that).

I only noticed this problem while fondling my XM knife, and was disappointed to discover this problem on 2 of my other knives, one being with a Ti scale.

You'll notice it immediately, and I've only had it after a blade swap (i.e., with Hinderers), so don't worry. Very easy to fix for the ranch, they just need to put in a thicker stop pin. They must have grabbed the wrong one during assembly.

Great to know! Thanks.. I got my issue of Blade’s complete knife guide today, looks like they plan on making Eklipse Autos this year too! Periodically throughout 2023…

Quick update on the detent rock : disassembling the knife and screwing the pivot back with a little more force alleviated the problem for 2 knives on bearings (skiff and steel bearings) and made the detent rock disappear completely on the 3rd on teflon washers.
