Lets see some Hinderer action

Could not resist upgrading this guy.

This just in, and hoo boy!

I am once again impressed by the subtle but meaningful difference between the various Hinderer models and thicknesses in-hand. I've owned a pretty comprehensive cross-section of the brand over the past few years, and the Skinny 24 really does feel and carry differently than the full-fat version.

New to me firetac landed today. Glad to have one back in the collection! I swapped on the Micarta scale that came in the trade, and a clip and filler that I already had. It goes together decently. I'm checking out the disc and LBS options over at Gray precision tonight! Oh and imagine my surprise when I checked under the hood during the scale swap and discovered an unadvertised set of skiffs! The action is phenomenal on this one and the edge razor sharp.PXL_20241105_022811921.jpgPXL_20241105_022817915.jpg

I could be wrong but I think I owned that one a while back 😂. Does the box say bronze finish but the ano was removed?

Love the clip/tab set!

It does indeed! It sure ain't the first knife that's passed from you to me, though this one took a longer route!

At some point someone soaked all the screws with locktite. It was a bear getting it apart with damaging anything 😂. I had a recurve firetac first, but I like the spanto version better and whoever sharpened this one did a decent job!

Yeah that one has been gone for a good while. It was my first firetac. Regretted letting it go so of course I picked up another one and then another. Such a great model that doesn’t get near enough love.

The loctite wasn’t me but the sharpening job was a friend of mine if one of the previous owners didn’t touch it up.

I’ve had 2 spantos and a recurve. Love the spanto blade but the detent on my recurve is perfection. So much more snappy than the other 2 I owned. Not as drop shut though.

There's no love like a first love! I'm pretty happy with the detent on this one, and the sharpening job looks like a one and done deal, your friend done well! I gotta add a monster disc to it, because I love them and also supporting Pete Gray! Plus I need a disc for my MK3 😂

Glad you’re digging it! Can’t wait to see the new disc on it. If you ever get tired of it and decide to move it hit me up.

I remembered seeing it pop up in the trade section about a week ago. With the ano removed skiffs added and sick edge I knew it had to be my old one
