I don’t recall Hinderer releasing this specific model and I agree with you, it would be a home run. What’s kind of funny is he started the company on the beefy XM-18 that could take on just about any task and now a lot of his fans/customers what everything skinny, thin and hollow. Good for Rick for adaptingHas Hinderer ever done a XM-18 3.5 skinny non flipper hollow ground slicer (!@#$ what a mouthfull...)? That might very well be might dream Hinderer daily user--especially a stonewashed blade and BB, stonewash DLC, or working finish frame. Yum.
Not sure what happened thereW T F![]()

And I love my beefy NF Bowie.I don’t recall Hinderer releasing this specific model and I agree with you, it would be a home run. There's enough room in my world for both, don't worry. Why not just get an Inkosi instead ?![]()
Since the OP isn't responding, I will. It’s a Gen1 XM18 non flipper made in 2006. The Pantograph signature on the blade is correct, the dimpled and checkered thumbstuds are correct and the Chicago screws for the body are correct. Whats not correct is that the lockside and clip have been reblasted to hide scratches and the clip and tab screws have been changed. I was sad to see that survivor was given a fluff and buff to make it appear new. These Gen1 XM’s appear once in a while and many have been given a spa due to being used hard.
Sorry I'm not too frequent on bladeforums. This knife came from Leonard Ikeda. Unforunately the screws were missing. I am not sure about any reblast but I don't think Leonard used many of his knives from Rick. I've attached photos from Leonard. Not sure about who may or may not have owned it prior.Whoever did the reblast on that one should have left it alone! Sad to see a survivor lose its patina. Please tell us all about this one and how you acquired it.
