They don't have any replacement parts for 0392's any more. Which theoretically isn't a big deal, because all the hardware is made by Hinderer and still compatible. I'll call Hinderer tomorrow and see if they will sell me a barrel, fingers crossed. Bright side is it still works just fine, isn't seized anymore, and is awesome
That's a good point. My vibratory tumbler is pretty gentle too, so it shouldnt affect the way anything fits. Just make the finish a little more uniform and dull down any sharp burrs. Might go ahead and do thatDoesn't look bad .... nice Wharncliffe.
BTW, having a "white" pivot in an otherwise black knife is completely normal for a Hinderer.
A couple times it felt like I wasn't even going to be able to get it closed again, it was absolutely insane. The retailer is exchanging for me but giving me some insane cope that "oh I just looked at mine and it has the same marks, I checked it before I shipped it and it was fine" . oH rEaLy, your lock face has a fucked up mating surface is that right? Well I have a hinderer too and many other knives, and not a single one has a fucked up lock face or lock stick, and none of them required any breaking in. Spare me your bullshit, I just spent $500 on pocket knife it better not have fucked up *anything*. I especially want it to be right if I'm spending another $100 on a regrind and won't be able to get any warranty support, it has to be correct right from the start.I’ve got a ton of Hinderers. 2 of them had insane lockstick straight from the factory. When Hinderers have lock stick, it’s BAD.
It is shocking, after all of the human-hand QC that goes into each one, that they can ever leave the factory like that. Back they go.
What sucks is if the knife you bought goes out of stock and instead of exchanging the knife for another new one, you have to send it back to Hinderer. They never seem quite the same after that. Not to mention the lengthy wait for return.

He's not trying to fight me on it which is great, if he was I would just return it because I'm not going to keep a knife with lock stick. And I'm not sending it in for warranty, and being without a knife for a month that I paid a shit load of money for. I could do without the prentention and attitude. Just give me the benefit of the doubt and swap it out for me.Ask him to try out the replacement before shipping it to you. Not trying to protect the Hinderer shop, but it could have been a restocked knife if the retailer is behaving like that ....
I hate lock stick.
Looks amazing, the matching filler tab is awesome. I love burlap micarta, I might have to do that on my XM-18. What is the texture like, is it highly polished and slick? Or is it "softer" and more grippyMatchy-matchization has occurred. Brown burlap buddies. Now, if only I could find a couple sets of brass hardware, my vision would be complete.

Smooth. Definitely not glossy or high polish…they feel kind of like finely sanded wood. I did rub them with just a little bit of oil to make them appear less dry and give the texture some more depth.Looks amazing, the matching filler tab is awesome. would you say decent grip? I would like to see SDK start offering some textured finishes for their micarta, in addition to the smoothSmooth. In my opinion, the grip on the XM and Eklipse relies more largely on their handle shape(s) with their finger choils and large jimping milled into the frame. SDK matches up the jimping on their scales to the factory jimping along the edges very well. They feel great to me, but in all honesty, I’m not doing super laborious stuff with them on a regular basis, like prying car doors open, working with them in inclement weather, or using them for farm work with gloves etc, but it’s perfectly grippy enough for my pedestrian uses. I had a couple of their canvas micarta scales on an XM before, and I thought those were reasonably grippy as well.would you say decent grip? yeah same, I have SDK canvas micarta on my Eklipse and if it's any way comparable to that, I'd be happy. I would love a Hinderer titanium scale but it's just hard to swallow the price of a pretty nice knife just for a scale. $60 for SDK micarta, I can dig itIn my opinion, the grip on the XM and Eklipse relies more largely on their handle shape(s) with their finger choils and large jimping milled into the frame. those are going to look fantasticFound a set of brass hardware for the XM in stock at DLT… yes, the plan is coming together. And to quote Hannibal Smith, I love it when a plan comes together.
Had to resign to putting myself on the stock notification email list for the Eklipse set, but my wallet probably needed a little break anyway.
