Where are you finding the variety of micarta scales? I see Whitty has a few, but I am looking for some different colors. Does it feel any different than the G10 scales?

i think i got it...let me know if you need more videos

Hey after looking at your video i can assure you that is pretty normal, it's just the detent ball coming out the socket a little bit. I thought you meant it rattled when you shook it side to side.. as long as there is no blade play when the knife is closed or open then what you are showing is just the detent ball. Could be wrong though but all mine do what you just showed in the video... anyone else care to chime in?

I just dont get why they dont make the detent ball go in the hole a little more...i mean its barely going in the hole making it loose. why would they make is so loose to where i can whip the blade open without using the thumb screws or flipper...but this is a flipper no? if they wanted people to use it with the thumb screws then get rid of the flipper?

I just cant imagine some of the other blades would do this.

On the older generation 4 knives the detent hole isn't as large, they've sense adjusted it so it's a bit stronger. I have 2 that the detent is very strong to where my wife and kids can't even open it and it wears ay my finger pretty good. The other 2 are softer, but I can only open one using the thumb stud and is an older gen 4. If you want the detent stronger you can send it to the ranch but i prefer the softer detent myself. Kinda hard to please everyone is what they say.

Oh ok...i was under the impression that they will not mess with the detente at all
Really? Maybe I'm wrong then. You could always email and ask. Dont want to miss lead you...

To my knowledge they will not change a detent unless it is causing the knife to be completely dysfunctional. I could be wrong and will edit or repost if I find out differently on Monday.

I've been collecting for years and I've never been so obsessed with a knife. It's my perfect knife -- my favorite design (xm-18), my favorite steel (m390), it has no choil (pointless on a blade < 4"), it's my favorite color (blue), it looks badass (black dlc blade and frame), and the one I got is an absolute perfect specimen.

Not going to lie that is just sick! DLT knocked it out of the park with these! Congrats!

So is the little bit of wiggle in the blade when closed is normal? Also if I'm not 100% satisfied should i still keep it anyhow since it would still be rare...I can't possibly think there would be a ton of these made...it's the sig Sauer legion edition by the way

Did you buy this new or used?

Bought it new straight from sig Sauer .com ...only purple that have the legion pistol can buy one...only only problem I see with this knife is the detent...the ball is only going in like 10%...but the hole is big enough for the entire ball to go down into it.

If the detente was stronger it would flip better and stay in place better when closed. I don't like the feeling of being able to whip the blade out with just a flip of the wrist like in the video I posted

I have the Legion pistol. What do they need for verification to sell that knife to me on sigsauer.com? As far as the detente, you might have to do some kind of custom shaving of the detente ball - or replace it - for it to seat properly in the hole. These Hinderers are notorious for detente and other issues when you get them new. If you look back at some of the pages in this thread, you might find what you need in order to fix it. A lot of us have had similar issues that we worked out thanks to a few of the guys contributing to this thread. Blade play is definitely not normal...don't settle for that.

You're a fan of the black, you'll probably dig this one.

I wasn't really looking for black XM's at first because I've had so many black-bladed knives in the past, I got kind of tired of them...but I totally agree that these are so nice looking. I got this awesome exclusive last month on Knifecenter. Now I'm in love with the black DLC, lol. Actually next one I'm eyeing is the same version as yours - no-choil, M390, black one from DLT. Just deciding what G10 I want. I really want one of the M390's, one of my favorite steels. Also would like one in 20CV but they've eluded me thus far.

You have to register the pistol on their site...then they give you access to buy "special"legion products that only legion members can buy...I bought mine last week on sale for$400. So should I just keep this for the uniqueness or just return it?

There is no blade play side to side. There is just some looseness sitting in the detente when i pull on the blade lightly...but again the only reason why it's like that is because the ball is only in there 5 or 10%.

If your comfortable doing this. Take it apart with the proper tools (protect the pivot screw slot with tape on what ever tool you use as the black coating will scratch off easily) and increases the pressure on the lock arm.

well that wont work as i tried pushing in the lock arm with the blade closed and it will not go in any further...but this offset was done on purpose obviously otherwise if the ball went in completely then the lock arm would be touching the blade which I definitely dont want. All I want is the ball to go in about 35% so the blade will be a little more stabilized when closed.

It will work. It doesn't necessarily have to go in further, just needs more pressure on it. Done it at least a dozen times.

Direct from RHK when available, other members, and Whitty, the red and bone came him this week. It does feel different, kinda softer and gripper at the same time.
