^^^ I've found the one-piece ti presentation scale seems to make perfect tuning easier.

My little herd is back up to 3 again, this time with all three XM sizes represented and a variety of blade grind as well:

I've been interested in another Hinderer, but felt the HalfTrack and XM18 3" would not be good fits for my meaty, arthritic hands. I may give the Jurassic a try down the road and expect I'll also wind up with a ZT0562 at some point, but thought I'd go another way for a mid-size Hinderer-designed knife, so I ordered the Viper Storm, stonewashed in CF.

There's a thread on them here at BF and there've been several complaints of poor action, blade play, off-centered-ness, and knives arriving gunked up with excess grease or oil. I must say I'm quite pleased with the quality of mine out-of-box--excellent F&F, no gunk, decent action pre-break-in, and nicely centered. I'll give this a few days in pocket and come back with some thoughts down the road. In the meantime, here's a few late-day pics.

Here's the Herd as currently constituted, the newest addition being the Hinderer-designed Viper Storm. I do like the knife and carried it all week, but if the "true" Hinderers are horses, then the Italian Stallion is really a pony. It carries very well but just doesn't have that same substantial heft as Rick's own knives.

I have been wanting a new Jurassic for a while and needed to replace my Stonewashed one. Got a new batch of stonewashed in today and this one just called my name. Ericka always puts an extra little something in the box for me!

Did not waste time putting it to use as it helped carve the family pumpkin tonight! I am still a Half Track nut but when it comes to harder use I actually like my Jurassic as much if not more than my 3.5s!

Funny thing is A handle screw came loose and I lost it, just got a replacment blue one. I couldnt bring myself to put a plain screw in the place of the blue one, ocd I guess. It is a great knife though, really a great blade shape

The blue hardware looks just perfect with the jade scale.
