Let's see some knives headed to Seattle next weekend

I've saved up enough to buy almost everyone I know a beer. If I'm able to sell off some of my collection while I'm there, I might be able to afford 2 beer :)

Awesome knives in this thread guys. Really can't wait to meet the DeRosiers and check out their knives and some other new folks. Can't wait to see Dave Lisch's bowies and that awesome looking fighter of Bing's. It'll be good to see Erik Fritz again and check out that awesome set of knives.

Going to check out all of these chef's knives too as a few of those might be in my future. Could really use some pointers. :)

I will be finishing another bowie tomorrow, maybe two and will post some pics of some completed knives. The redwood handle on the other bowie had a bad accident with me and my carving tools so it got replaced into some nice rosewood burl today. That's life in my shop lately. :D

Thanks to everyone for posting.

Really excited to get down to SeaTown and see all the cool folks! Haley and I are taking off in the morning (Tuesday) just to make sure we get there in time for the Friday pre funk at Dave's shop! Now that spring is here we don't even have to take the snow machines to the boat, so it should be an easy trip! We finished up the last of the sheaths today. Got a cool carry option for the "Ghurkri" Haley calls it her "purse" knife.
See you all there!

Adam.

Just got this bowie done. 8" blade, 13" overall, damascus fittings and rosewood burl handle. I started a new thread for this that has some detail pics.

Finally finished my last 2. Here are some I will be bringing.

Raised clip bowie with and interesting hamon. Blade is 11.5" long, handle is some of that 5460 year old bog oak and my first dramatic sculpted handle.

Next is a feather bowie with artifact ivory handle.

And last one for this post a W pattern fighter/bowie with wrought iron s guard and fittings. Handle is some really nice stabilized Redwood Burl.

See ya all in Seattle

Gentlemen,
Due to unforeseen circumstances I won't be attending the Seattle Show. Dang I worked hard on this show too. The wife is ill and daughter is about to go into child birth labor. I just better stay home or suffer the consequences for the rest of my life from them both. I regret not meeting some of my forumites especially Lorien. So sorry to miss this one. My mystery bowie may have turned some heads too.

Sorry to hear that Bruce. It is better to keep the homefront at peace so to speak. Hope it all works out for you and yours and let your wife know we are praying for her speedy recovery. Congratulations grandpa!!

Now lets see pic of the mystery bowie.

Hi Bruce,

You will be missed by many.

My personal philosophy is that each show is precious and unique, and unless someone is dying or dead, there is no reason to miss it.

Close friends of mine have missed shows due to family illness or someone getting married, or some such....I say if the family member cared that much, they would not be ill or schedule a marriage around a show, but that seems to fall on deaf ears.

Enjoy your absence..the show will go on without many, but it will still go on.

(for those without the ability to discern sarcasm.....it is fully present in this post....I'm sure that Bruce has to do what he has to do).

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

family should always come first, Bruce, good call!
Thank you :)

Darn, I'd'a liked to meet you Bruce. Hope you and yours all the best. See you at some other show I'm sure.

Too bad Bruce. I was really looking forward to seeing you again. But I understand and I'm sure you're making the right call. We'll catch up another time.

Bruce, we all will miss you, but understand. You need to take of your family. Congrat's on the new grandbaby:thumbup:

Thanks Guys,
I may have solved my "no show" problem. Kaye can hold her own head up now and child birth has gone on for thousands of years without Grandpaws there. see Ya,ll soon.

Dangit, you guys are killin' me! I told myself last year that I would get ready for this show, but it was not to be. If not for the 14 hour drive, I'd even just wander around talking. Next year, next year.

Dan

Glad you made it work out Bruce. Now all my excuses for not going sound really lame. So I am hitting the road for the drive across the state to hit the pre funk! Looking forward to everything. Chris

Just now was the first I heard about this show... :(

But my weekend plans had me going somewhere else... NOT NOW!!!!!
I'll only miss this if I get run over by a bus on the way home tonite!!!!!

Really looking forward to a show in my own town again!!!! :D
