Lets see some MOABOLO pics

Great choice Habib. I think one of Ban's convex edges would give a serious jump in performance on ANY knife!
Ain't that the truth Justin! Ban blew my mind the first time I saw one of his edges when I first met him back in late 2011...I understand what a truly sharp knife is thanks to him. On top of that, he's a great guy and I'm proud to call him a friend, so yea, when he said he was willing to help me out on my MOABolo, there was no way I could say no!

Stay tuned for pics of another beloved knife I picked up from him this weekend...I'll be posting pics real soon....

Awesome -- sounds like it'll be a real special piece of INFI. I'm curious what exactly could they put on the front 2 inches that would avoid damaging the edge when chopping roots? Is the edge angle going to be more obtuse?

I think you may be thinking I mean chopping roots with the bottom cutting edge, I am referring the top spine/swedge area. ;) What I specifically asked for might remind one of hunting very large sea creatures.  This is all pending approval though, so I am just wishing and hoping until then anyhow.

Ban's work is exceptional for scary sharpness. Back in 2010, I used my Ban'ed AK to slice a 3" thick Phoenix phone book, from top to bottom, completely in half with one pass. I need to do it again some day to demonstrate it with pictures or video.

Three! That's only 1/9th of the 27, what about the rest? :p Congratulations on some beauties there Jaxx. So which one feels better in your hand?

Hey guys I have a question that I'm hoping you can answer for me...

I've noticed that every MOABolo pic I've seen so far, including the 'Ganzaaa example, has a "Busse Custom Shop" etch but mine got the normal "BUSSE" - ultimately it doesn't matter much as I imagine mine will eventually be stripped and sterile but it does seem a little unusual and I am curious...

Do any of you seasoned Hogs have theories as to why certain MOABolos (or any Busse) would get the BCS stamp and others the standard BUSSE? I guess I'm just wondering if there was a mistake on their part or some other factor that I am not aware of.

Would love to see if any other MOABolo owners got the normal "BUSSE" etch like mine:

Hookahhabib, with the camo coating and logo on that blade I suspect yours may be the one from the actual ganza pic just with the handles changed out. The rest are all made to order "Busse Custom Shop" like the description read that they would be. Yours may be one of a kind!

Ragnerok, I presume he and Jaxx both asked for the hand smoothed handles. ;)

About the handles; yes i presume so, me to. But that makes that more of a custom shop model than the rest of them, that my point. I ordered a standard model and are maybe gettin`a custom logo, dont know yet- and it actually dosn`t matter to me- just a bit confusing- and as you are saying; he`s may be one of a kind with the standard Busse logo.:D

(I actually preferre the Busse logo to the custom shop logo, but thats a secret between us.;)).

Kind of strange this, as yours got smooth custom handles...

Actually, I requested those (and Alex did as well) ;)
So glad I did too...they're comfy!

LoL, yea AZTimT I was thinking mine might be the only one as well! Thanks for pointing out the possibility of mine maybe being the one from the Ganzaaa pic - I was mistaken and actually thought the Ganzaaa pic had a BCS logo (don't know how or why I came to that conclusion, especially with how much I looked at the photo!), but what you're saying totally makes sense :)

Like I said, it doesn't bother me...I really like the straight up BUSSE etch.

If mine is the only one stamped that way then I may have to preserve it with an etch whenever I do strip my MOABolo!

NICE! Those look great Alex...congrats!

How do you like the hand-shaped scales? I just realize I never got back to you with measurements

No worries!

LMAO, just 3 of these beasts are all I had room for. :)

To answer you both, I'm torn. The machined feel better than I expected, and the handshaped feels as expected. Both are very good...just having trouble deciding on which to go with for the user. The tan canvas & Tanker Grey has a wicked edge, better than the others (which are sharp!), it might get the nod. :)

ragnerok, yes, it was my request on the handshaped handles. :)

LOL! I must be getting desensitized to your epic INFI addiction because I just glazed over the fact that you bought 3 MOABolos?!?!?! No messin' around....

I think I'd have trouble deciding which of my MOABolos to make the user as well. Life is hard sometimes ;) :p hehehehe! Seriously though, if you're not going to give it a proper, hardcore sharpening right away then I'd say just go with the tan & tanker grey since it's already pretty sharp and you're cool with the comfort. That combo looks great with use anyway - oh wait, I forget, they ALL look good with use!

Once again congrats :D That is truly epic stuff
