Lets See Some Pure Fighters

Before you guy's jump all over me I know this a prouduction knife but I think it has merit so I am posting it. The Warrior is the late Michael Echanis brain child and was designed by him. A few custom makers worked on proto types but the late great Al Mar put it into prouduction. I have 2 of these and they are getting quite hard to get. I do not really care for this style of fighter seems to favor a reverse grip and in close action but Echanis had quite the reputation as a martial artist and edged weapon practioner.. But my point is here Is what two very competant men invisioned as a pure fighter. Walker thought highly enough about the blade and the men to make it his cover shot and give it a whole chapter. Everyone has a different perception of what a fighter should be. Incidentaly this is where I first read about Fisk, Bagwell, Smith and wild Bill Caldwell This book came out over 16 years ago

In my opinion, this is the epitome of what a fighter is. Everything in line with the point and dropped pommel for excellent thrusting capabilities, spear like point for tough entry into wound and increased pressure to blade side, long belly blade for constant presentation in a cut and the serrated back for OUTSTANDING trapping and control damage. In a reverse grip, the same qualities but for different portions of the body.

I'm an idiot though so take all that with a grain of sodium chloride (NaCl)

Oh, yeah, the material they made handle from stays "grippy" when wet. Plus the bolt like handle will crack a skull like an egg!

Forgive the terrible photography, but it's a beautiful knife by Milan Mozolic, and definitely the kind of Bowie I think qualifies as a fighter:

Beautiful knife Mozolic does very nice work. I've been looking hard at his knives lately.

One ready with handle and scale profile modifications, one more to go.

Yeah, Milan seems like a great guy, and he does phenomenal work. I've just become acquainted with his knives in the last few months, myself. Very clean, attractive profiles, perfectly executed.

I like your knife Coke, it's all business ;)

Two from my collection I really like, the JF and SK figters by deceased maker Enedino DeLeon. Someone who's work I got to appreciate too late.

Those are wonderful blades.

I am working on a blade for a client that is DeLeon inspired

Glad you like them Skirmish, hope you're well there mate.

De Leon is the ducks nuts in unique and quality fighters that were made the way I like knives to be made. Won't be seeing any new ones anymore which adds to their already justified worth, their worthiness and their unique beauty. He was a great knife maker the man, you never know, if the right one comes along one day, I may be lucky enough to post picks of it here next to my other knives. You're on a winner there Skirmish, I feel his works will soon start increasing in price exponentially, and for good reason.
