Not sure, I live in MN if that helps. It's in a nature preserve along the MN river that runs the length of the suburb I live in. It's pretty good hiking considering its right in the middle of the 3rd largest city in MN. I would guess it's oak or maple.

I'm no good with trees. And this time of year there are no leaves There is a tree not far from that one that is hollow, and the cavity is large enough for me to fit in
