LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

Landed this Schrade made DASCO Rockford IL harness jack. Very high condition, marked 928 pile side tang main blade, beautiful celluloid, not sure what it's called maybe butter and molasses. I'm pretty sure it's Schrade Cut Co era as most DASCOs were.

Definitely Butter & Molasses, John, beautiful knife! I have several old Schrades in B&M cell, and none of them are outgassing. They got it right.

I need to catch up here a bit with some recent arrivals for the Eugene Show as well as from my Post Master Mr. Paul Hilborn, Thank you once again Paul

While at the Eugene show, Paul ( Jakeywax31 Jakeywax31 ) rocked up to me and handed me this gorgeous crucible Harness Jack, I was kind of taken back a little, Paul as the people know who have met him is a great guy and a generous one at that, so I was stunned- and super rapt too all at the same time, my first Crucible I got was a Scout from Augie, a nice scout it was- thank you gain Augie, and the other day I picked up a Crucible Scout that had terrible photos, and I was stunned when it arrived, it was MINT - never been touched in it's lifetime - inside the liners were still gleaming.

So..with Paul's Crucible Harness Jack- this too has led a blessed life and I am absolutely stoked- Paul Thank you once again my friend!

I am pretty sure this older Miller Bros. Harness Jack Knife was getting a bit lonely, so a couple of siblings arrived recently, one was from the show and another off the bay.
Nice to see the differences in all three of them, two with long pulls, one with long pull and no shield, and one with a nail nick. they all share the same tang stamp on the Punch: MILLER BROS ( arched & over ) CUT.CO. over MERIDAN.
The Ebony has the same as the punches for the main tang stamp, the other two have a main tang stamp: MILLER BROS ( arched & over ) MERIDAN over U.S.A.

Now this one was a surprise, poor photo's once again when looking to buy it, I knew that it was a lower tier Harness Jack.

When it arrived home I was quite surprised to say the least- this is a big Harness Jack @ 4 & 1/4 inches closed, in the Natural light this Composite Material almost looks like Bone- it has been placed on something hot, but with a knife like this that's neither here or there, I purchased it to look at- I'm glad I did.....

The Blade is nice and Full and has a real nice Swage, the Punch is a fairly standard issue, I haven't the time yet to really look at this one yet.
Tang stamp ........ A. C. MFG. Co. and the rest is very much hidden and worn - but with real careful maneuvering you can put together the Marinette.

Goins states: A. C. MFG. Co. Marinette. Wisc. Circa 1912-1950.
Levines state that they were a Manufacturer which is interesting! 1912 - 1944 and were the company AERIAL CUTLERY CO. ( Jeager Bros. was Aerial Cutlery's Brand name).

I'm glad I have it, as the Blade grind is that little bit different and imo that little bit nicer. One could be forgiven thinking the blade is shortened but upon viewing the knife nesting into the super fine confines when closed- no, it is cheaper knife that has been spared any hard work within it's lifetime.

I like the celluloid on this.

New York Knife Co. Harness Jack with the Scout Emblem and the ever so nice J.E.Fuller Spiral Punch.

The Fuller punch looks like a Harrison punch with spirals added.

Not a show stopper, I just found I could not walk past this little Remington, main is a little worn, but..... its still a fairly decent Remington Harness Jack with the Acorn Shield ( denotes a Punch Knife)..
Imagine this with a nice Clip point blade!

Now I can understand when people possibly wont even dedicate 30 seconds viewing these old wrecks, the reason I have a pile of L.F & C hard cases is because L.F & C used two different Punches, and there is a few different tang stamps, so I am just gathering them to have a good look at them to compare and work out when what Punch was used, you will see half punches, Half Blades, but they all tell a story..

Speaking of nice celluloid, that Utica has my favorite pattern and color of all the celluloid I have seen. BRL called it abalone pearl celluloid.
