LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

Russell matey- Nice! I havent seen that patent before, would you be offended if I kept a copy of that Shepherd Punch kind Sir?

Can I also ask my friend with no hidden agenda- just the want of knowledge here.. where do you see Schatt and Morgan in the Knife- is it that Main with the Swage work? or..? The only Harness Jack I have of Schatt and Morgan has an extremely unique Punch of which I have not seen before.
This is not to say that Schatt & Morgan only ever used this Punch, just out of pure conversation do I post this ....
Here is the Schatt and Morgan HJ and it's Punch ( Note the same Federal Shield as the Vance, also the same way the Kick on the Main Blade angles - then angles off again as the Vance - I hope you can see this? )..

Duncan, my friend by all means save the information. I did find it some time ago on the www.

I was only referring to the punch blade which on initial viewing looked very similar to and without closer inspection an S&M punch which I had seen somewhere. Further to that I realised it was on Charlies HJ2, remembering though that was a patented design from another knife company. So to cut a long story short put my size Thirteens right in there with regard to my initial comment.:(:D

Hey there Russell, Mate !!!! it very well could be! as you can see the Schatt Punch in the Photo has a very deep Concave- that Patent looks to be it doesn't it!!!, if I can keep this again as a referencing point and to add with what I have please Sir? - this is fantastic! Thanks so very much in advance and for your great help matey!

A well used and loved old E C Simmons, I took this picture last year shortly after I got it and unfortunately this knife has come up missing, it's around here somewhere, I'm certain my wife went on one of her cleaning and rearranging sprees and stuck it somwhere along with a scout that went missing at the same time.

Some awesome HJs posted recently folks:eek::thumbsup:

Hope you find it soon, Rob!! It's a good'un!!!

HJs 4 and 4a!!:rolleyes:GEC N4 N4a 1.jpg GEC N4 N4a 2.jpg GEC N4 N4a 3.jpg GEC N4 N4a 4.jpg GEC N4 N4a 5.jpg These were getting kinda dusty in a display case, so I thought I'd TLC them, as well as CE and CF them!!:D (people say they don't understand the language around here?? I wonder why??);)
The Stag is etched "1 of 25" on it, but only a dozen were ever made!!
And most Natural Stag was serial numbered back then! I kept #008 just because!! I don't know who has #001!!
Since the Ebony is the Prototype, it is not marked "1 of 25". (It too, is one of only a Baker's dozen!:p)
I love these big, hefty knives, with thunderous "early days" Snap!!:cool:
I hope Bill will finish the run some day!!

Thanks Duncan:thumbsup:, her moving my stuff around and not telling me has been an issue for years, she's the forgetful type so I go easy with just a casual mentioning of it occasionally, stuff always turns up.

Nice, Russell!! They sure got some good stag for these #54 HJs!!
Thanks for the numbers!!

Well my friend it sounds like you will find them - and what a neat day that will be!!

Many many moons ago I lived with a Lady and she threw one of my very old T Shirts away- well I didn’t find out about it until it was gone - this was such a neat shirt- I asked her about it and she said that she needs to go through my clothes and throw some of my old stuff away.
I said - umm that’s not going to happen or I will simply do exactly the same to your wardrobe (s) and do a massive culling and cut them up for rags in my garage - while she was at work, she said you can’t do that!! as she saw the different side to it then when she saw I was serious and never did it again. :)

Hahaha ! Great story Duncan and a good example of actions speaking louder than words :thumbsup:

Valley Forge, once I got it cleaned up a little I realized what a high quality well made knife I have:)
It's my first Valley Forge and I'm impressed, strong pulls, loud snaps, very tight and crisp and of course the pick bone is really nice stuff:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Wish I could have gotten it before someone started cleaning it and gave up half through. Kinda had to finish what they started to make it look better.

Updated pics in better light.
