LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

Hi everyone
Here is a HJ I have been waiting for to arrive, this Knife is a awesome HJ, in beautiful condition - could one call it Mint with just a couple of tiny Carbon spots?
There was a few Knives from Boker out there recently - some pretty supreme examples, I remember contacting our friend Herder and letting him know of some auctions- he was already watching them :)
The story behind this and those other Knives is that these are from the Salesman Boards that Ernst Felix, former Boker President apparently took with him when he left that came from the Salemans Boards, SMK obtained these in the 80's, and this Knife was purchased having been recently cut from the Board.

So... just how accurate the story is I am not sure, it tends to make sense with the untouched beautiful condition this knife is in, having never been used or cleaned.

The Knife has such deep dense Ebony that it's quite remarkable, the Liners and Springs are all Steel, this Knife is immaculate in every way, the Walk and Talk is beautiful. A very welcomed addition to my HJ family.

Please forgive the White -Tack you can see just poking out past the edge- it makes it look as though there is a Problem with the edge- which there is not....

Nice one! I find it interesting that there is no umlaut on the o. Definitely made for an English-speaking market.

Strictly speaking, mint is "as it comes off the cutler's bench"!!
But there is no shame in "near-mint"!!
You rub a knife with "Bluemagic" or Metalglow", and it's technically no longer Mint!!:p:)
A few dots mean it's got some age!!;)

Congrats, Duncan. That is really special.

I love Harness Jacks. My favorite knives, and I've posted a few on this thread . . . maybe I should post up a couple of others I have. But you and Charlie are the Kings of this thread. I just love seeing you guys post up pics of some of the fantastic knives that you have. Thanks so much for sharing them here for our viewing pleasure.

Amen to that Charlie!! ^^^ ( by the way- Charlie and Dave are THE Kings when it comes to these Knives - but I will grab them when I can lol.

Thanks my Friends! You guys are very kind with your comments, yes- Charlie the technical terminology of MINT - but some of the Knives I see for sale described as Mint  :D

In contrast to all those beautiful HJs that have been posted, here are a couple of relics that have seen a lot of use!!
The top one is an L.F.&C (Landers, Frary and Clark) with wood handles - most were made with various man-made compounds,
and the bottom knife is from Blish, Mize and Silliman Hardware, with celluloid handles!!
Both have very worn mains, but I collected them (for pennies!!), because the punches have seen little abuse! At one time I knew who made them. But now I'm not sure how I figured it out!! Hmmmmm. . . . . . . . . . . . .

These knives make me believe that a few generations ago, people used knives a lot more than we do now - quite a change in lifestyles!!

That 77 my friend is Stunning!!! I will never forget Charlie’s presentation to the Buyer on the Label stating that this may be one of the more beautiful Knives - I still believe this to this day.

Charlie kind Sir - thank you my friend for allowing us to view your stunning knives and sharing your knowledge - we are so so very lucky to have such a fantastic person like yourself willing to share.
That LF&C HJ Punch is a dead ringer for the Boker Punch displayed at the top of this page.
