LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

Wow, you guys have some beautiful old examples that I'm still learning and searching for. I'd gotten this Schatt equal end HJ a while back. Gotten a second equal end that was made a few yrs after this one, the bone is completely different, yet the awl is the same.. I've long been drawn to the piercing tool and have several other newer model knives with leather awls as well. I am hoping to find that teardrop HJ someday.

No, I don't know, Jack. It has some earmarks of a German knife, but so far I've never figured it out!! It's the only example surviving that I have seen!! Bernie Levine owned it before me!!
He offered it to the HBC Museum, but he wanted them to buy it, and they refused to pay for it!!
It's a fascinating knife Charlie 😎 Quite a pedigree! 😁👍

I don't Know where to begin!! Thank you Jack, Charlie for all your wonderful support, I just sneaked home for some lunch!

Jack, I have had the fortunme of being gifted two of those Older Robesons as well as to buy a couple - each one is so so nice- and sharpens to a scalpel!!! Great Knives!

Charlie - each HJ is right up there - I do mean every single one!!!! Love that pair of Old Case HJ's, the dearly loved and worn down example still contains much wonderment!!

That Utica I remember when you first posted it ( If I remember correctly ) Awesome and it bears amazingly strong similarities to the Early Sears remake of Wadsworths example that Sears first Sold , here it is below - although not a HJ

That Hudsons is simply gorgeous - earmark for future hours staring at it if that's ok Charlie Sir.
D. Divine's Ulster is superb as is the Sears and the Blish, Mize & Silliman ( that's a mouthful )!!

Nature Boy- Man you are so correct with the Hudsons!!! Wow - just....WOW!

SFO- nice Schatt & Morgan there !!

It means a lot my friend, just a lovely old knife 🙂 Hope you enjoyed your lunch 😉😊👍

Here is a Smaller "HJ" I picked up some time ago, I don't think there is much ground one could stand one if to argue its not a HJ, I gifted this to Charlie Noyes who used to own one- or His Wife perhaps did, and they regretted not having it - Quite cool with the wee Robeson Punch

Aren't these HJ's just Great!

Scholefield 123 Its funny - I still shudder to this day with the pain I suffered with the HJ9 😂 That Punch is like a needle and it did exactly what you see in the movies - I managed to slam that thing so far under my Nail - - my first initial instinct was to pull my hand away and shake it - the Knife stayed in during the shaking momentum - which kinda raised the pain level to a degree of which I havent visited before 🤣- I have had quite a lot of pain in my my life- but I am sure that that one tops everything lol.

I still love the Knife though!

Let'er buck - thanks for that, The 54 Clip Point at the bottom is one that's quite hard to come by - very Early and very low in numbers with Charlies DNA right through it 😍 ,
Both Charlie and I saw that piece come up available!
All those 54's are amazing - the Clip points- That stunning Spear Point - I consider myself extremely lucky.
