LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

This Schatt and Morgan HJ had a pretty rough life, as I'm sure most of em did! ;) But Schatt punches don't show up very often. The blade has been used quite a bit and both blade and punch have been tipped.
It was squished in about the center, bending the liners and cracking the mark cover pretty bad. So I put shim stock inside the beds and clamped the bottom where it was separated quite bad and let her sit for a couple weeks, trying to bend the liners back straight. Then filled up the crack in the Ebony with super glue and clamped her back down for another week. This punch is a laminated one just like the N.Y. Knife Co. is.

Nice rescue, Dave!! Rare punch - you don't see them often!! Maybe the 4th or 5th I have ever seen!! And I owned three of them!! ;)

Awesome Job Dave!
That Punch is a nice one - my one has been used a bit more so is shorter - but still a fine representation of their Punch!

Dave you don’t mind me taking a copy of that Patent you so kindly added in your post Sir?

Nice HJ my friend.

I'll go ya one better Duncan My Friend!
Here's a link to the Queen Cutlery History Documents. The article by David Clark where I got the Patten information from.

I haven't carried this HJ6 as much as I would like but since I was finally able to get a 2nd HJ6 Ebony for my collection from an excellent member it will be used more
The size of this HJ is great to edc, if you're wondering the blade etch is there it's very light from use and cleaning and the inside light does not help
