Lucky Lucky people getting the latest release- man that whole Harness Jack in Ebony Rick Ryan looks stunning.
Well I wasn't as lucky as the guy I bought it from.Lucky Lucky people getting the latest release- man that whole Harness Jack in Ebony Rick Ryan looks stunning.
Jack - I have massive trust issues with him letting go of that knife - in fact I think he is going to try the “ I put it in the box- it must have been stolen “ trick.I trust your postmaster in North Dakota is holding yours?

Here you go, Jack!! William told me they changed their forging method a bit!! Some of the variances are visible!!i might be in a small group, but i kinda want to see any of the new harness jacks split apart and created as their own knife and tool. that punch is so large that it can serve on its own. does any one have the 98 punch to put side by side??

Scanning these punches has spurred me to do a function test on them!!
Coming up later!!!
Interestingly the slightly flattened tip on the Camp, penetrates much better for the initial "stab", but they both cut nice round "slugs"!!ha the 86 just pips the 98 by a nose! thanks Charlie!

C = Camp,
W = Waynorth!!
The holes can be cleaned up by cutting again from the back, but I left them as is!!
The leather is 8 oz. latigo (A chrome tanned belt blank I cut a number of years ago)
Would love to see a lot more of this Knife - in shots of the Pile side etc- Love it!Here’s an interesting HJ, a Cattle Punch by Jason Richie. From reading some threads here the frame is based on an Empire Knife Company knife built for the Shadleigh Hardware Company called a Diamond Edge Cattle Knife. One of those knives was the basis for Tony Bose’s Diamond Edge Cattle Knife. He liked a clip point on it and that became the Case/Bose Cattle Knife. Jason‘s is a two blade and I think that punch is an Alford punch which was on the old Empire along with a spear main blade ( not positive on the 3rd blade ). I hope I got most of that right. I think Jason made a knife that is different but still a homage to a pattern with an interesting history. I would like to learn more about the pattern. And the knife is a really great build.

Here’s a picture of the pile side. Not sure but I think the punch is an Alvord. I didn’t even know about the Empire Knife Company. I read they made 800 patterns. I have been enjoying all the HJ pics especially the C. C. Rider.Would love to see a lot more of this Knife - in shots of the Pile side etc- Love it!
