LETS SEE THOSE MAGNIFICENT HARNESS JACKS

Well this New Zealander is pretty Darned Happy!!

I received an e-mail notification from ouR good friend Charlie that a package was on it's way! We did a swapsee thing before - but I was hoping he wouldnt send anything back as I do owe this Gentleman a great great deal. Try tell Charlie that because his generous veins just run too hot in his body to ignore - so here is what landed here in the land of the Long White Cloud.................

If any HJ is to be placed into a thread with the description "Show us your magnificent HJ's" - this Harness Jack Knife of Charlie Campagna's, His #11 The Rider most certainly belongs within the pages.
Thank you kind sir for this stunning example of a HJ.

Glad you like it, Duncan!! It's the least I could do for you!! You have sent me historic knives, worthy of duplicating by talented bladesmiths, for which I am ever grateful!!
And your dedication to the field of traditionals is legend!!
(I mention Sears, HJs and more)
Great detail pics, Duncan!! They make me appreciate Bill's efforts even more!!

Thank you Jeff my friend but not quite true, Dave knowtracks knowtracks I would firmly put up there as Charlie's right hand man in the HJ World - which is a awesome thing:D! We are so lucky to have these people here !

Thank you Charlie, kind Sir- That was nothing in comparison - I tend to go on about things when trying to convey my feelings, so restraint is in place 🤣

I have read a bit about the pull being almost too strong on The Rider, I have to say I dont agree- and man that's a change as my nails are not strong at all, I was expecting more strength in the pull after reading some comments, but I am very happy with this Knife.

Pull would (in my rating) rate at a 7, its a stout pull but not in the too hard basket, I do know I have to keep my nails trim to open knives with hard pulls otherwise they break. The Punch is a formidable Punch and I couldn't imagine it having a pull much softer, That lovely 86 Clip I can Pinch open if my hands are dry and I would rate the pull pretty much the same as the Punch!
Love it!

I agree with your assessment of the pulls, but maybe we just got lucky! I was worried about it being to stiff, but would also rate mine at a 7 or 7.5. Stout but not a nail breaker by any means!!

to me the pull is just right on Charlie's 86 HJ
I was never good at giving the pull a number I think it depends on the individual
The only strong pulls I've seen on Charlie's HJs were HJs 1 2 and 3
If you have one of those you would know what I mean :D
I mean this in a good way they are awesome HJs

I mentioned, somewhere on BF, that Sheepfoot bladed HJs are rare; no more!!
Not since GEC came out with this beauty!! Having some leathersmithing in my background, I wish this knife had come out many years ago!! A very useful blade for cutting leather (bull hide as the case may be!), I would have owned at least one, way back when!!! Great Knife!!!

Yep! that's a real Beauty Charlie, Glad you got it!

I just had the arrival of some Sears and Vintage HJ's :D.

It may take a wee while to get some Photo's as my daughter is coming to stay for a week- so I am evacuated from my Office / Knife Room lol and will be spending time with Tay before she heads off to her 2 month OE.
When she comes back from the big OE, Tay will stay for another week or so the she will then head over to Aussie to live.
I am upset that both my girls will be in Australia, but on the other side very proud, very happy for Tayla's excitement and prospects as a young Lawyer networking herself and exploring the World, she is going to stay with her older sister who is an E.R Nurse whom did exactly the same.

Sorry for asking but if Sheepsfoot HJs are rare, what is most common then?
