Charles May Knives

Big Hand Scandi (Ironwood scales) and something else I never figured out.

Two by Mark Hill, out of the UK. The larger is with RWL 34 steel, the smaller with O1 steel. Bocote wood handles. Both are solid performers, with great edge retention. They go through Oak and Hickory like butter.

This recent addition has no secondary bevel, but its bevel is convex, not flat, and it is not saber ground - the convex bevel runs to the spine. And it has the fuller we associate with the Marble's "Ideal." Finn, I think.

Well, I'm not so sophisticated as y'all, but I've been more than satisfied with my humble Mora Companion.

Here's a "stock" photo from ^mazon's site:

It's wicked sharp and slices very nicely serving as a perfect, lightweight "COMPANION" to my more heavy-duty field knife from Bryan Breeden (pictured below)

with which I am *thoroughly* pleased.

Maybe one day I'll acquire a custom/semi-custom scandi "bushcraft", but for now I'm quite pleased with what I have.

These arrived from Finland today. The puukko is by Jani Ryynänen and the leuku by Tapio Syrjälä. The leuku sheath is interesting; the lower part which I assumed was leather with a molted stain is in fact curly birch.
