You of course have absolutely no obligation to "appease" anyone here. This is just the Internet.

Simply this, when I see a line of different light along the edge of a knife that parallels the main bevel, I think that usually means light is being reflected by a plane different from the main bevel. I have seen as much in over forty Nordic knives that I own. I make no claim of perfection.

I get ya, and I can see it. Trust me though, its a trick of the light. If I'd received that knife with a secondary bevel I would have removed it immediately; I bought it because I wanted a high-end scandi.

Ah, the thread is alive again. Much better, well done gentlemen

I see that on mine too some times. It's just from stropping.

It's particularly noticeable when a patina is formed, you'll see a second shinny line at the shoulder too then but they'll disappear again after sharpening.

showed this one not long ago in another thread. Scandi folder. 3 1/2 inch blade, O1 steel, Bocote wood scales. Steve Smith made it.

can't go wrong with an adventure sworn.
What's the difference between the 2?

Availability and price.

Field Grade is a new endeavor for Adventure Sworn and they're going to try and have "production" models with CNC'd handles available at all times. Sheaths are slightly less refined too but cost is roughly 2/3 of what I have into the custom.

Like a hole in the head... LOL!

Heaven help me, I'm looking at all the options... :nevreness:

I talked myself out of it when I saw the email at 3am. Then talked myself out of it again around 5am.

Then ordered 5/32 O1, scandi, antique white micarta with thick tan micarta liner at around 6am.

Some wood carvers.
Ben Orford english sloyd, custom made with a slightly wider blade

Hans Karlsson slöjdkniv, Morakniv (Erik Frost) 106 and Pasi Hurttila maasepän puukko.

Blind Horse Knives Bushcrafter taking a break after splitting up some wood. Tough little knife............

Here's the second knife I've ever made. It's going to my father soon. It's in 0.10" Elmax, Thuya burl, Ivory G10 liners, and Sally Martin mosaic pins.
